Example: I discharged a 2s 2200 Thunder Power lipo to 6v from fully charged and it showed 1840 taken out of the battery. I then charged the battery and decided to stop charging when the MhA showed 3000 put back in to the battery and the Voltage was at 7.95 volts when I stopped it and more than a hour had passed. The invidual battery cell voltage was at 3.97V each. I did repeate this test on a different charger and the battery showed correct charging. Do I have a bad charger?
Can this charger be fixed and for cost? Also where would I send it for repairs?

Thanks

Joel
Hi Joel,

Well you've answered my question even before I asked. I can't get the E-Station graph program to run on Windows 7 either.

Will the 902 charge 2 6s 5000mah packs in series @ roughly 2C?

Also the Bantam software, any update on the Windows 7 support?

How many chargers can I run on one 23 amp power supply each charging a 3S 2100 pack?

If I'm charging at 1c the charger would be set at 2.1 amps so does that means its drawing 2.1 amps or is that 2.1 amps per cell making a total of 6.3 amps?

No. The 902 is 200 watts of power.

1 6S 5000 packs @ 2c would require 222 watts of power. 2 packs would require 444 watts of power.

No update yet that I am aware of for Win7.

Let me reword my question?

Using this power supply http://www.competitionelectronics.co...wr_supply.html how many BC6DC's can I run on off it? The max charge current is 5 amp so does that mean I can run 4 BC6DC's off it?

I'm not an electronics guy so bear with me.

That PS (power supply) is rated for 13.6V and 23A, or 317W. Assuming your chargers are 90% efficient, that gives you 285W of usable power. The BC6DC is rated at 80W, so it looks like you can run 3 chargers at full output off that PS.

BTW my website TJinTech covers much of this.

3 for sure, probably 4 assuming you are not maxing the current out on each charger.

Thanks, so basically your comparing the watts, not the amps because the watts are the total power based on the volts and amps.

Default BC8DX refuses to charge 3s pack with TEMP message

The lipo is 3s 2000mAh transmitter pack. The TX says 10.5v, so I take it to the charger.

The charger BC8DX keeps stopping itself with the status "TEMP" after a minute into the charging process. I don't have any temp probe cable, so I think the charger mistakes the temp setting and terminates the charge, because the battery is cool. I can't charge the lipo because it keeps happening like that. I don't think there's anything wrong with the charger or the lipo (3s 2200mAh), but rather the temp setting. I tried to increase the safety temp to the maximum, but it's still happening.

Immediately after it starts to charge, the tone for charge completion sounds with the "TEMP" code on the top left of the screen, then I see this:

Set 11.1v
Read 11.1v

Any idea? Thanks in advance.

Has this happened on any other batteries? Also does this happen on both sides of the charger?

Great question/suggestion, Evan. I tried left (channel 1) and it started charging fine. Would it be some setting on the right side that I misconfigured? There's really not much to configure there though. Any idea? Thanks.

Process of elimination. So the tx packs works correct on Ch 1, but not Ch 2. Try another pack on Ch 2 to see if that goes well.

Default Same thing on another pack

Hey Evan:

Please see the attached image where the "TEMP" message is displayed when I tried today with a 6s 5000mAh pack. This is happening only on port 2 on the right. Port 1 on the left would charge the battery just fine. Is there some kind of settings that got messed up on port 2?

Thanks.

Is there anything plugged into the temp port on that side of the charger? There are no settings that would be enabled if the temp probe is not plugged in.

Which side of the temperature sensor should be taped down on to the battery?

Evan seems to be MIA. If no one is going to man the Bantam Support Forum there is not much since in having one.

The other support forums for brnaded products are not supported at all by the manufacturer. Its more of a grouping a questions/issues for the same products or supported by field reps and not the manufacturer or distributor.
