Default power issues

Trex 700E
CC 120
Scorpion 4525 - 520kv
JR radio
Ikon FBL

I have been messing with the governor because it was chirping and screwing up the tail with too high and then bog when too low. At first it seemed closer to where it should be and then I was giving it throttle and nothing happening or very little. It seems that the OWB gave out, but when I check it now, it feels solid. I also noticed that the motor shaft was cut and does not reach the second bearing block. Also to note that this 700 was bought used recently. Any suggestions or similar experience?

Thanks, but got it from a friend and he only flew it gentle. So he would not of been able to figure out the issues. He also pieced it together. I will work them out and make it a great heli. My problem is that I am not familiar with the 700 and need to learn the little things.

The 4525 motor has big bearings and strong shaft. I'm haven't run a bearing in the second bearing block since the last HFFF. That second bearing is too small and they die all the time.

The OWB housing is notorious for spinning the sleeve. You can add a set screws or buy the KDE one piece stainless steel housing.

Thanks. I ordered a new one and if the problem happens again, I will switch to the KDE housing.

The motor shaft could have been cut by a previous owner (of the the motor, not the heli). Some helis (like the Gobblin I think) need the motor shaft cut otherwise it drills into the battery pack.
There are a lot of helis that do not use a shaft support bearing block - so I would think it will not be a big deal.

The chirping was the governor gain for sure. I run the gain down around 12. Check the CC web site for suggested ESC settings. You have to look around their site, but they have a couple of examples.

With the gain too high, there is a chance that it broke the OWB loose. Not broke the OWB itself - just spun it in the hub.
So getting the KDE Direct OWB hub replacement would have been a good move.
If the old bearing spun in the hub, it may never be solid again even with the KDE Direct OWB installed.

I did the mod to the new owb per the amain video. I am still having issues but I think it is mainly coming from the fbl unit. My pitch keeps changing so I took the one off my 500 which is a new one to troubleshoot the problem.
