Need new main blades: Stock or other blades?
hi,
i need to buy new blades and i would like to ask you, if i should get the stock blades, which fly quite nice or should i try other blades? i only do sport flying with some flips, loops and inverted flying - nothing special. what i do not like about the stock blades is, that they are all black. but i made the tips white and ordered some holo stickers, so this should be ok in terms of visibility. i have seen some nice visible blades here in germany, but they might be a little heavy. they weight 36 grams, which seem a lot more than the stockers http://www.se-helistore.de/Helitec-N...r-orange-350mm what do you think? are they ok, should i stay with the stockers or are there other great blades? |

Those look like Mavrikk Wide Chord blades. I don't think those will help you with visibility though, depending upon the lighting conditions.
I've never had a problem seeing Edge blades. I've used Align, Radix, SAB, RotorTech, Mavrikk, and the ones with a white tip design of some type were the easiest for me to see. By far the best blades I've ever used as far as visibility were the stock Compass 6HV blades, all black with just white tips. I wish they did the same for the stock Warp blades. I keep saying I'm going to paint the tips on the ones I have, just as you've done. Maybe I'll try that this year. Good luck!!

I first looked at your location thinking I would have just sent you a set of Edge and a set of RotorTech (black and yellow) to try out. But not to Germany.

i can understand, that you do not want to ship to germany though i already ordered the stock blades - they felt very good anyway. |

Try SpinBlades ... they are manufactured in Germany I believe. I run these on all my smaller models and they are AWESOME.

How could I have forgotten Spin Blades?
I had them on my Gaui, very nice blades, balanced out of the box. I haven't tried them on my Warp though.

I'm waiting for the Halo Blades 360mm and 450mm to come out. We'll see what happens after that.

If you're looking for nice blades to replace the stock items I would tend to agree that you need to stick with the above suggestions.
On the other hand, if you're chewing through them like jellybeans, these are pretty nice to stockpile while everything is getting sorted out. http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...hite_Red_.html Truth be known, I rather liked the things and still do. They save me copious amounts of money. |

Truth be known I bought about a dozen pairs of the wee beasts. For some reason, perhaps noobness, I tend to tip over 450s a lot. Those HK blades take a lot of the financial sting out of it. I'll start buying expensive blades once (if) I ever get to the point where main blades aren't the first sacrificial lamb on the altar of my learning how to fly. I guess I probably should have started with 450s but, like much of the rest of my life, I felt compelled to do everything backwards. ...sigh... |

I alway have a stock alert and get 6/7 pairs when they restock.
They fly fast from the warehouses.

I only have a few flights on them so far but, they are damn nice blades. I am flying the 3D version now but, have the Red Tips in stock too. I also just received a set of Align 360mm's to try as well. They look very nice and well made too except for the word Align carved into them lol. The Spin Blades show up really well against a blue sky being predominantly white which is nice for clear days. They are a bit pricey though at $48 vs. $28 for the Aligns. Especially when the fit and finish is very similar and they are smaller. I will comment on how they fly when I try them. |
