Well i have only used the pyro 600-12 and that has more power than i could ever use. It works awesome for this California heat. it stays very very cool.

Which Quantum are you using out of curiosity?

KDE has the most power. That being said I am able to do really hard 3d with my quantum 4120.

I went from the QUANTUM 4120-1200kV to the Pyro 600-12 to the KDE550XF-1200-G3.

The pyro was the most efficient yet easiest to bog - good for collective management practice

The KDE was by far the most powerful when you need it, yet quite efficient when you turn the HS down and use the torque. Lov the KDE power and quality

This puppy will handle anything you throw at it at any headspeed.

Any opinions on the Scorpion HKIII 4020-1300? I got a good deal on one of these - getting ready to start my G500 build.

I did a lot of research for something that will work well with a stock G500 as well as a stretched 3 rotor at high and/or low rpm, depending on preference. This is the one I came up with!

Scorpion was a runner up and some like them better. I think Quantum are lacking power.

Waiting for Dave Mullen to review the Xnova.. vs his usual Savox. KDE loks really nice. Yeah I run the Quantum 4020-1200.

Maybe I just need more headspeed.. but it sure doesn't have the power of my G700 with the Quantum 4530... you'd think it would scale.

Savox Pro spec 1200 here, but the KDE looks like a beast!
I remember Dave Mullen advised me 1-2 years ago to choose the Savox over the Quantum 1200 as it has around 15-20% power

I have never tried the Quantum 1200 that came with my 500 kit only had the Savox installed and Im happy with it

The 4120-1200 has plenty of power. It's unboggable for me running 2500 HS with 516 Rail mains.

The G500 was my first experience with Quantum motors.

Mine ran hot, had decent power but with huge peaks.

Get the XNova

I got the KDE motor for the same reason. It gives you the options to be able to run 520mm blades or even stretch the Goblin to run 550mm blades and still provide the power you need to smack it hard.

KDE motor pull like a tank at any headspeed

I think Slysters power issues is that he runs big heavy batteries 5000mah 45C and low headspeed, 2000-2100.
At that HS and weight, I can see why it would be a dog.

Slap a 4100mah battery in there and raise the HS to at least 2450 and it will be a night and day difference.

True. It could be battery weight. Although now days I run closer to ~2400rpm so I think a bigger motor might be worthwhile... the cool thing about larger motors is that they won't really detract much from flight times (if you don't use the extra power very often).. But I'll definitely borrow a friends smaller G500 lipo and give that a try before getting a new motor.

I thought my quantum was running hot until I temped it and was only in the high 140's to 150's. Scorpion is what runs hot. I run 2800 HS with 3700 and 4100 pulse. Has lot's of power

Tried the Scorpion, quantum and XNOVA.
XNOVA is my favorite. Same power as the Scorpion but not heat ESC and packs (and itself) so much. Xnova is more efficient.

Does the KDE fit under the stock canopy without opening up the hole.
