Did you set up the tail in rate mode?
What do you mean about your batteries?

I set the tail up in hh. As far as the bats a normal flight would be about 5 1/2 min but now with this gearing about 3 min and the bats are quite warm. I think i need to drop 2 teeth on the pinion. And this is a 3g not 3gx

I agree with dropping down two teeth. What head speed are you running & at what % on you throttle curve?
As for the tail if you put it in rate mode and hover it & the the tail starts to move, then use your trim until you it can have a straight. Then land it & look were the slider arm is. I will make a mark on the linkage rod & put the trim back to center on the radio. Then pop off link to the slider adjust it to the mark. Then take off & if it flies good in rate mode then flip the switch into HH. Your servo won't have work so hard & your tail drift should be gone. Last time I had tail drift was on my Blade 400. That was 6 heli's ago. Hope this helps.

Are you using helical gears or straight cut main gear?

I run the 450mx with a 12 tooth helical gear & the 35x ECS at 100% & my head speed is 3300rpm. I run 2200 mAh at 4 min & put back 1400 mAh. All runs cool. On my 500 I run 2700 rpm

You still need to get the tail to work in rate mode. That will help in a big way.

I test flew it this morning and the tail did not drift go figure. But about half way through the pack it started to wag a tiny bit. I'm starting to think it is the weather going in and out of the garage where it stays 60 and out side temp is around 35-40.......Maybe who knows???

I always let mine sit out side for 20 min. I I'm driving & it is cold out side I roll down the windows for awhile before I find my spot. If its hot I do the same thing. If the gyro is not the same temp I think it could mess with it. I have done this with the Blade 400, CP Pro, Align GP750, JR 370 3D, Jr770, ZYX-S, Ar7200BX, & both my 3GX's. don't have the JR 370 or the Ar7200BX I traded for another 3GX after 3.0 came out.

Links can get tight when they get cold and even the pitch control links with the brass bushings also.
