Was looking at using the Hitec HS-5485HB for everything.

The K & B .40 will be barely adequate (I flew the Revolution I/clone of the Helibaby with one for a while). These came with both Perry and Irvine carbs. I never ran the Irvine, but the Perry had the nasty habit of loading up and gagging just when you needed to open the throttle rapidly.

A control line version would not have a throttle/carb and would be impossible to use in a helicopter (unless the venturi was removed and a carb substituted).

I would still strongly suggest pursuing an older O.S.

I did manage to adapt an O.S. Carb to the K & B .61 I had in my Revolution Commander (not a powerhouse but it completely eliminated the loading up issue).

I totally agree with AhClem . I had a O.S. .40 on my bird and it worked really great .
I would go one step further and put a new style .40 motor on it so it would have just a little more punch .

So motor size and brand would work best for the buck? Those servo's should be OK right?

It seems that most all .40 size heli motors have now moved up to .50 or more .. We flew them with airplane motors ... but it would be nice to have a cooling fin head and the heli carb ...
Here is a super tigre .40 heli motor I just found on ebay ... good luck
