logo 500 vs 400
I have been very impressed by the Logo 500's and larger flying at my local field. the 500 seems just the right size (physically) but the logo400 fits my price range better. (i would be recycling electronics from trex500 to get started)
my only points of reference are trex size variations, i don't see such as big a difference between a trex500 and 550 compared to the step from trex450 to 500. i have not seen the 400 to compare against the 500. does it make sense to wait a year (or 2) to get the 500 size? thanks for any insights. |

Due to the size difference, the 500 will fly better. But I was like you, I have wanted a Logo for a long time but the 500 or 600 was just a little out of my budget. I just picked up a 400 and I couldn't be happier. I have yet to fly it, I just finished setup last night, but so far it looks great. You can even go with the SE version and you can swing bigger blades, giving it a bigger feel to it.
To answer your question, I'm glad I didn't wait on my Logo 400.

I have a 400se,
Go with that setup. I little bigger (475mm mains) but it will still use your 500 electronics. Flies bigger, The only issue you will have is once you see how it flies a 600se(x) will be in your future and you will sell your blood or other bodily fluids to get it.

Please note, there's no science behind my previous statement. I just got the data from TruBlood and Capt Corpuscle.

I had a 400 for a little while also.
I'm going to say wait and save up to make the 500/600 jump. The 5/600 can be anything from a 500 all the way up to the 600se on the same frame. Driven tail so it will grow with you into the auto rotation phase Great all round frame setup ( IMO ) I know you have servo's already but you could sell them off and buy a set of bls451's and then you got a great set of servo's that will last you long time also (i'm at 310 flights and counting - still tight as new ) Years ago i built up a trex 600. Back then the 6s setup was all that was out there. It took me an extra 6 months to save up and build a 8s setup. Seemed like forever , but it was worth every minute one it was up and running. Then the other side of the coin is that many of us have more than one heli. So if you go with the 400 , then the next machine would be the 5/600 heli. Martin

I have Logo 400 SE. It is quiet and stable and it flies great for me. Not as expensive to repair either. The only thing that bothers me is that I cannot see it very well in the sky (guess I am getting old ). I went for the 400 because I had all the needed electronics from my T-Rex 500 and that saved me some money. I do not regret it but I am now looking to get 500 or even 600. If you can afford it go for the 500 as it is bigger and has modern drive train.

The design of the 500/600 drive train is way better. You get a smoother heli and that allows it to fly quite good. The 400 design has a drive train that can get quite tricky to get smooth. |

You'll be happy with either, just happier with the 500.
