Default Re-programming throttle end points in BLHeli

Can someone walk me through how to program throttle end points in BLHeli? I've read the manual and can't seem to get the right beeps that signals it's learned high and low throttle.

I'm also using an OrangeTx module with a Taranis, so it seems to be complicating things.

I'm running a -100 to 100 throttle curve on the Taranis.

If I move the throttle part way, I get a single tone.

If I then go all the way to full throttle, I get repeating single tones.

If I go to zero throttle, I get repeating single tones.

Back to full throttle and I get a triple rising tone and I'm in Programming mode.

I unplugged the battery and started over. Now if I don't start part way throttle and go right to full throttle, I get a single repeating beep, but I never get the acknowledgment tone that the high throttle end point was learned.

If I go to low throttle, I get repeating single tones, and then back to full throttle I'm back in programming mode.

What am I doing wrong? I think it might have something to do with the Orange spektrum module I'm using. Do you have any experience with it?

The endpoints are not programmable on blheli escs when hooked up to a nano or mcpx v1/v2 (end point calibration is only for PPM signals like out of regular receivers) it sounds like your just going in and out of TX programming mode, and when in programming mode half stick let's you skip through parameters to make it faster to program, can get confusing real fast...

You just need to arm it by giving a little throttle (at the same time the esc learns that it's hooked up to a pwm signal), go back to 0 and the next time you give it throttle it will spool up.

The Taranis is crazy, might want to start a thread about it, I know one member that will have all the info you need for the Taranis/nano. The end points might need some wacky adjustments, since the Taranis can output way past 100%signals compared to spektrum.

Hopefully in the process you didn't change any important settings on the esc, the main one being input polarity, which on my kits and install instructions should be set to negative.

Hope that helps. If calibration was needed or possible it would be in my install instructions

Thanks,

Dylan

Oh, and you need to run flat throttle curves with blheli. If you need a normal mode, make it something like 0-75-75-75-75

Thanks Dylan! That would explain it.

I don't think I changed any settings in programming mode...I just unplugged the battery when I realized I was in that mode and it still seems to arm and fly the same way.

What do you recommend for flat throttle curves for governor on the wild kit? 68 and 75?

would this be the reason why my mcpx has a pulsating throttle ?

The wild set-up does best in the low to mid 80's

Are you running a brushless conversion with a flashed ESC?
