the main pulley i got is still going strong,

its everything else that ive broken

here is a list of my latest crashes/problems

siezed belt pulley bearing
fixed that then
i nicked my tail blades and caused a loss of control in the air
hard skid landing
fixed that then
aile servo failed partialy( works but not at full travel)
so back to ds11 amb from ds09 amb

and then my one way let loose from the gear, had it epoxyed

i think all my issues are from wear and tear, and i smashed my new
edge blades too

im back in the air, for today at least. i forgot how much work ive put in this little heli

Fusionsx00, Wow, definitely not cool turn of events but at least your X2 is still airbourne.

Question: With the upgraded gear/tail pulley from HSC, is it a "Must Have" upgrade? Looking at the photo's, the CNC is High Quality and looks to be an excellent upgrade but I haven't read too many flying impressions with these installed.

I have them installed on my 255, and they are so much better than the original red plastic versions. I have not had my belt slip once since having them installed.

I have both front and rear cnc-gears, top quality.

With the stock gears I got the belt to slip a few times, that has never happened with the new gears.
Also, HSC is a top guy, order with confidence.

+1.

Is it absolutely necessary? No. Would I recommend it? Definitely. It'll let your run the belt a bit looser and have less chance for slippage.

the hsc cnc pulley in the front is aerospace grade

it is a perfectly machined part, it spins true and the belt pattern is perfect

the stock plastic red one is crap, the plastic one is always warped, and the belt notches do not line up .

for me this made a huge improvement on the belt hold on,

the main problem is the belt itself, it is too thin, but with this pulley you at least have one that meshes.

Great news, those rock..

By the way I do recall you were experimenting with different belts at some point,
any success with that?

HSC hasn't replied to my PM so I'll post here to see if anybody might know?

Yesterday, I started sorting through the remains of my smashed X2 after ignoring it for a month and a half to see where I was on getting it back together. I remembered/discovered my HSC rear tail gear and shaft had snapped in two.

One of my questions to Mr. HSC was, although less than optimal, if I could just use the stock Gaui part.

Another of my questions was the gear machined as part of the shaft and if not, could it be removed and put on another shaft. Last night, I took a stock gear/shaft and was able to press the gear off the shaft and with that success and knowledge, was able to remove my HSC gear from the broken HSC shaft. I now have a gearless stock shaft and the HSC gear.

Does anybody know how these are connected? Is it an interference or friction fit or is something like sleeve retainer or other adhesive used? The HSC gear seems minutely looser on a stock shaft compared to the snapped HSC shaft. I'm just wondering if anybody knows if I can mate these up and use the HSC tail gear again?

Thanks,
-- Elisabeth

Hello !
I totally forget answer your pm, soo busy lately...... Mad house...
Abut the shaft, you can change it with no problem, only keep it clean with alchol or something similar, then you need to grind a bit the part on the shaft where pulley align on shaft with diamant disc from Dremel or Proxson. And finally glue it with "Loctite 603", this adhesive is designed too glue such a things...

Thanks, HSC. No worries.

No local availability for Loctite 603. Going to cost about $26.00 USD with freight for a 10 ML bottle I'll probably only use once. Looks like I'm just going to use the stock Gaui part.

Thanks again,
-- Elisabeth

I've pulled my HSC tail pulleys off of my crash bent shafts. I'll put the HSC on stock shafts with this:

Wow! Thanks for the link. Good to know something besides the 603 will work and not having to spend twenty bucks for a 10 ML bottle even better.

I just double checked and I use the 609. If you worried, the 680 is even stronger.
