The only difference I'm aware of on the 600sx and newer 600-3d fins was that they removed the idler mounting holes in front of the tail shaft. (which I feel was a mistake but whatever)

Maybe you have it backwards?
Looks like the SX tail fins only allow for the idle pulley to be above the tail pulley.
While the 6003D tail fin allows for the idle pulley to be in front or on top of the tail pulley.

I always put the idle pulley bearing above the rear tail pulley.

Notice that I said, 'in front', not 'on top'.

The 690 swashplate is different from the regular 600 swash, which I believe was used on the 600SE as well. The geometry is different, as the balls where the pitch links go are farther out. So you can get more blade deflection with your slider down farther in the Vbar setup. I recently put one on my 600 and a friend did too. We like it;-). Just had to readjust in the setup and it feels great. Hopefully it'll survive crashes too. It weighs a half ounce more but it's beefy.

Default Upgrading a 600SE with some 690 parts

Glad to help. I was having trouble finding any info about it so I just spent the $93 and found out for myself luckily it worked out :-).

The 3 outer balls measure the same spacing across, and 2 of the upper balls are close to the same spacing for the swash follower (.5mm on each side), but the other 2 upper balls are a couple mm farther out each. Ball diameters are the same as the 600 ones so it bolts right on, just re-do your slider adjustment for 8 degrees on cyclic, and check your slider for collective if you measure your collective pitch. It was a piece of cake and I ended up with about 86 on the slider with cyclic at 8 degrees ;-)

That's exactly what I want. More cyclic throw but keep the collective throw the same. I'm going to order one to try. Thanks again

Dang. You guys are going to cost me $93. It would be nice to not have the cyclic ring constantly limiting my throws.

Hi guys!

Im upgrading my 600SE to 690SX aswell and was wondering what is the diffrence between 690sx (04881) motor counter bearing and 600sx (04622).

I also read somewhere that i need new style motor mount?

So far on my list:
04874 Tail rotor pulley 17 tooth, LOGO 690 SX
04878 Tooth belt LOGO 690 SX
04873 Main pulley 80 teeth LOGO 690 SX
04876 One way hub LOGO 690 SX
04866 Blade Holder 14mm blade grip, Ø5mm blade screw

Do i need difrent main shaft with this parts? (Right now i think i use main shaft from 600sx. Because i already upgraded heli with 600sx motor counter bearing) If yes do i need one piece headyoke or can i keep the old head? I will order some new dampers aswell for the head.

I probably wont change the tail right now and i dont think it will be a problem running it on 2000rpm with 105mm tail blades

Thanks

Yeah i would like some parts list or something like that. Stating what parts are needed for new drive train and what parts are purely cosmetical.

Hi guys

I'm planing on upgrading my 6003d streight to 690SX.

2 questions for now:

1. the counter bearing set for 690SX and 600SX is listed differently?? one is 4622 and the other is 4881. looking at the pictures i see 0 difference. ? i want to buy 4764 - full headset upgrade but if the counter is different than there is no reason.

2. Is there a SIZE difference between the OWB of the 600 and 690? could 1 be related to the different OWB?

Any other advises on things i might be missing?

10X

690sx oneway extends INTO the counterbearing unit.

10X for the answer. so if i understand correctly - all who wants this upgrade will have to buy both the new counter bearing + the OWB? or will it fit the 600SX counter bearing as well?

Looking at the picture:
https://shop.mikadousa.com/04881-Mot...SX_p_1201.html

I can't see how it extends into the counter bearing (i know the shaft does but not the OWB)? According to the description it is the same as the logo 500 counter. what is the difference?

That's because that picture doesn't show the updated parts.

Well doesn't seem like it will work with the 6003D main shaft. I didn't realize the OWB sits lower below the main gear. So I guess I need a SX main shaft and SX rotor head?
