Default Looking to refresh my older Logo 600

I have an older 600 "3D" and I want to get it a nice new motor.

While I'm at it, I'm advised I should get some SX parts. I'm interested in knowing what parts I should consider, and how many of them are required by others.

Specifically:
- I am likely to get a HKIII-4035-560. I run an older 560 now.

- I suspect I need a new motor mount. I think I have 25mm and need 35mm.
- I borrowed a counterbearing and it wouldn't fit with my motor/mount.

- I am told I should get the fatter main gear and corresponding pinion.

- I thought I might get the counterbearing. Does the stock motor shaft work out?

- To get the lowered head, how much stuff do I have to buy?
- head block, mast, long links...? Are blade grips, spindle all the same?

- Do I need the new main shaft (and hence new head stuff) in order to use the fat main gear?

Any other cross-dependencies?

Is there a way on a Mikado site to see the parts that differ between the 600 and 600SX?

Thanks,
Jim

I guess this covers part of it: https://shop.mikadousa.com/04637-Rot...600_p_627.html

Honestly, unless you have to spend money, the sx parts do not make it fly any better. I have two 600s and the one stayed as a 3d while the other was a sx kit from the start. Same electronics in both. Couldn't tell a bit of difference in the air. I have "upgraded" the 3d to an sx as I crashed and replaced parts, but it didn't really change the way it flew.

I appreciate that perspective.

For me, the sequence is:
1- want new motor, more kickass
2- feel that means I should upgrade the main gear and pinion
3- what else does that actually require?
4- while I'm throwing money around, the lower head looks cool.

I already have the "mandatory" red/orange tail fins... :-)

The upgrade kit linked above and a 30mm motor mount should set you up nice for a new motor.

The SX tail stuff is a nice upgrade.
The SX tail hub allows for thicker bolts.
Also the SX tail clamps are just two pieces.

Default Upgrade

This is exactly what I did:

I bought the Head upgrade hit that you have highlighted,
Upgraded the main gear and pinion (I bought the 11 and 12)
Upgraded the tail box, changed out the fins to the orange SX ones - (really visible now).

While I was at it, I changed out the main shaft bearings and belt, and went to the Quick UK tail grips. I also went to the Pyro 700-52 cause the old motor was 25mm.

Very nice updated machine now.

What other parts, can you remember?

I'm also going to update the motor (and mount).

Did you do the main gear?

thanks
