It is still a serial data protocol (it has to be or you need more wires), but the data is sent much faster (max rates would likely be in the vicinity of 10k times/sec if that was needed (its not)).

Likely it is simply one of the serial data formats (RS232, or one of several others) but the exact formal is proprietary. Technically equivalent to SBus i would presume.

Received the test firmware today. I'll fly it over the weekend. Also received a new software update for the TX. No major changes but a few details that I'm sure everyone will enjoy No release date yet on this.

Maybe I don't understand then.

I want to use UDI for Jeti rx and VBAR.

I scanned through the latest firmware update (v2.20) for the DC/DS-16 and didn't see any mention of UDI or Universal Data Input.

Does the tx not need any update to support it?
I see that the EX R3 supports UDI, so that's all we need?

Jmackey...it is a RX firmware update, not a TX update...it isn't out yet...Danny has been testing the final release from what I understand

It's very simple, it will be release when it's done and properly tested. Additional combination of PPM + servos, UDI + telemetry + servos and all requested combinations have to work thru whole product line, we are talking about ALL new/old EU and US receivers.

Fortunately we know that hardware is capable of supporting all Features, but unfortunately not all the products are working 100% at this time. I hope you guys understand that nobody wants to release something 1/2 baked. We are testing software for R9, as soon as we know more we will keep you posted.
