Oh yea Baby. Looking good, thanks for the tip Tony. I just checked mine and it is pretty loose mesh as well. Already been through a main gear.... but from a crash and not hitting hold fast enough when my bearing came out of the swash at LMAC. I will do this mod. Thank you.

This mod also makes the gear teeth way more durable including in crashes, motor runs cooler also. Better time on the batt.

Ect ect.

Me and Will was comparing temps and stuff before and after the mod.

Also oil all the bearings as you can tell they are dry bearings out of the box, you will feel the difference in your hands and while flying.

Interesting. I've just noticed mine is loosening up just a bit, but it spins down very smoothly now. Before it would wind down and then get loud at the tail end of the spin down. I'm not sure if that is related to this or not.

I'm sure there will be an aftermarket frame with a mesh adjustment slider in the future

Yeah, and that is what I am waiting for before I pick mine up. Each and every eflite heli I have ever owned suffered when they were still based on their crummy plastic frames.

I think the frames are fine they don't break, from watch many fly.

All they need to do is simply make the long gated holes and problem solved, buy it dude it's a blast!!

If you wait for a perfect Heli you will never get to fly.. Lol.

All Helis have this or that pissin with ya.

Good job catching that Tony. I won't be getting my 130x for another month but I've been keeping up on the 130 forum so I'm up to date (on mods needed) when I get it. I'm surprised no one else has caught this yet... unless I missed it.

I just did the mod Tony. Perfect mesh. Now gotta polish the feed ramp on my LCP since I have the Dremel out.

I agree with you, the frame is fine, adjustable mesh is just a bonus. Thank you for the tip!!

Just checked the gear mesh on mine and it looks fine. Must be a hit or miss whether one has a loose one or not.
I did have to replace the frames a couple months ago, maybe Horizon changed the design some from the original runs.

My wife and I were at a funfly this past Saturday. One of the pilot door prizes was a 130x... I mentioned to my wife I had seen a couple of these at LMAC and they were awesome limitless machines.. She wished me luck - another guy won it. After the drawing I found my wife at LHS that was at the fly-in (thanks Tommy and E Mergent RC!) buying me a 130X with a couple extra batteries!!! (being a sponsored pilot has many privileges!).
Anyway, great mod Tony!
I will be bringing it to the funfly...
