as I put in thread, what are the pros and cons of a regulator? im about to pull the trigger on an o.s .55 reg .... and want to know if the extra cash is worth it or just go for a non -reg and save some cash? I am putting this in an tsa 600n ,also 3d flying thanks guys

The regulator is definitely worth it. It will keep the fuel pressure very constant so the engine runs consistently. An additional nice little benefit is that since you won't be introducing toxic exhaust gases into the fuel tank your clunk line will last much longer.

On my X50, I've run an RL53 on muffler pressure with a header tank, and a YS 60sr with it's regulator on the same header tank arrangement. Honestly, found no difference, other than the power difference in the two engines. Both started and ran equally well. I ran the RL53 with an O.S. 50 Hyper carb with an adapter, and it was extremely easy to tune and live with. Only reason I changed between engines was I had been running the YS and had to rebuild it. I decided to give the RL53 a try. It was excellent with the OS carb. I wish I could have found an RL56 to see how it compared to the YS60.

My first nitro was regulated OS 55. I now run a Rex 57 muffler pressure. I would say the regulated was easier for me to tune. Other than that I have not noticed much difference. I dont have to let the pressure out of the tank.
