1600 is way too low for a 500.

I'm just trying to remember if it's governed and at what rpm. I might be wrong at 1600. I still can't find the Castle link
So here's the setting DX7S now for my T-REX 500 ESP with flybar. If I find the link, I can finally see if any changes need to be made to the ESC. Model type : Heli Swash type : 3 servos 120 degrees F Mode Setup : Flight Mode - F mode Hold - Hold Frame rate : 11 ms - mode DSMX Servo Travel : 100% on all channels Throttle Cut : Pos - 0% Sw - Hold Throttle curve : Normal - 0%, 70%, 80%, 80%, 80% .... Idle up - 100%, 100%, 100%, 100%, 100% Pitch Curve : Normal - 40%, 45%, 50%, 75%, 100% .... Idle up - 0%, 25%, 50%, 75%, 100% Swash Plate : Aileron - +60 .... Elevator : +60 .... Pitch : +45 Gyro : Normal : +35% .... Idle up : +30% .... Hold : +30% .... Ch: Gear .... Sw: F mode Governor : Inhibit

Might want to change your current limiting to either insensitive or disabled..

You also have governor mode in the Tx "inhibited"...
Not sure, but in the Spek Tx's, if you want the governor to work, do you need to enable it in your Tx and you need to set your flight mode's throttle curves to flat lines at the % the castle software tells you to?? Or is this not the case? If you want a gradual normal curve, and just fly a flat throttle curve in IU, then I think you need to set the ESC from governor to "fixed endpoints". I know for my Castle ESC's, the throttle curves for "set rpm" governor mode, would need to be like... normal would be a flat 30% (2603 ) ( I dont use Normal... it's set to "0" flat curve ) IU1 would be a flat 70%, ( 2658 ) IU2 would be a flat 100% ( 2704 ) You also need to make sure your TH is working. This is VERY important, and would be a good idea.. ( since I usually check my TH settings with no main blades..) to also check your failsafe set up. You need to make sure that if you turn off the Tx, the Rx will shut it down. Many Rx's are set up by default to "hold last position" and with a governor, it will hold that throttle position, ( the TC for that flight mode ) ..hope I'm not overwhelming you with info.

I'm overwhelmed with info. I'm starting to remember why this heli hasn't been flown in so long. I'm going to take a pill and go to sleep and maybe when I wake up, I will understand what I need to do
Thanks Ray

Read the info in the castle link. It specifically states to use either disabled or insensitive for helicopters. I dont do 3D either.....

No worries. When I found the Castle link, I also found an old print out I made of detailed instructions from Castle Creations on how to properly set a governed headspeed with what needs to be done to the transmitter also. So I'll have to go over all of it with this DX7S.

What a mess. I took this heli this morning which seemed to be ready to fly and started the process of setting the end points and the auto rotation and finally the governor. The first thing was the hi and low set points of the throttle. I set the high point and the ESC registered it. When I tried to set the low point, all servos started to twitch and I can't do anything now. My ESC is now adjusted to ''endpoints'' and not ''governor'' so I lost all the settings I had before. Good thing I posted my governor settings here, I can just copy what's on here instead of looking up gear tooth count and pole number and Kv and stuff.
But now what is making the servos twitch uncontrollably?

The only thing I get now is 5 beeps from the ESC meaning that my radio signal is unexistant or corrupt. I tried rebinding twice but I still get the same thing.
EDIT: It looks like the problem is the elevator servo. I tried another servo (standard size) and all was working fine. Sigh! It's back in the box for this heli until I can get a new servo. Thanks for all your help but this hobby is not for poor people like me.

I know what you mean. I don't have the greatest income either and at one point when I was having issues and crashes, it really zapped me hard.

I am having trouble setting the auto rotation enable function. I followed the procedure for calibrating the throttle first. Then I followed the procedure for setting up a set RPM governor mode. Now I can't do the last step which is setting up the auto rotation enable function.
The ESC will not initiate so I can't adjust the throttle hold value on my Tx. Included are the three procedures I followed in pdf. Thanks. Ray EDIT: I think I might have figured it out, I think I calibrated first when I should've set the auto rotation first, calibrate second and govern third. Dat make sense?

Sorry, been offline for a few days...
Setting auto bailout can get confusing sometimes. Basically by checking the box, what your doing is... If you hit TH in the air, and cut the power, to try an auto...then switch TH OFF, to come out of an auto, it will spool up really quick, not go into "soft start" like when your on the ground. "Soft start" tends to take time to spool up... auto bailout just makes sure that if you go into TH to try an auto, you can switch OUT of TH and it will spool up quick... You dont have to have auto bailout checked, to use "set rpm". Usually, I recalibrate my throttle endpoints whenever I change from governor to fixed endpoints, or visa versa. I recalibrate after I make my changes and save them. If you have an issue with arming the esc after you set the auto bail out.. let us know. I think you will need to set your normal throttle curve to a flat 0% in order to use the auto bail out feature...Mine are set that way. You basically dont have a normal throttle flight mode. You fly in UI1, and UI2.
