Swift NX Motor & Battery Connector Question (& Misc)

Does anybody know what size these are:

Battery/ESC Connector
Part# CNE5513BAESC


and what size these are:

Motor/ESC Connector
Part# CNE5513MOESC

(4mm by chance?)

I finally received my YEP 100A ESC for my 2nd Swift NX build. It will use the Century 650A 800kV motor on 6S. I need to get battery & motor connectors. Trying to decide if I should use Deans or move up to XT90s or EC5s on the battery. I'm thinking 4mm will be okay on the motor leads, but I don't know what the amp draw of the 800kV motor is - I'm guessing 80-100A ? My 800kV currently has 4mm bullets on it. My only real concern is current/amp ratings - I don't really have a favorite connector style (sorry).

Here's what I've read:

Deans - 40A (have these on my 1st NX with 1100kV & 6S - probably should change them out)
EC3 - 60A (3.5 mm)
XT60 - 60A (3.5 mm)
Century ? - 80A (4mm) ?
XT90 - 90A (4.5 mm)
EC5 - 120A (5mm)

What are you e-guys running?

These measure 3mm inside .Look like a EC3 but a little longer barrel.

I do not have the others in stock.
I have ran the deans in 6s applications and they have been fine.If running with a hot motor and high headspeed and constant heavy cyclic I would say run a EC5 and there would be no issues.Feel the plug after flights and if it is warm at all you know it is not up to snuff.

Thanks for measuring those Century connectors - I assumed they were 4mm.

The Deans on my NX with the 1100kV don't ever seem hot, but that motor doesn't pull as much current as the 800kV (I believe). Good to know about the Deans though.

The amount of current that a motor pulls is not much of a KV rating issue, as it is of a head speed and battery pack voltage issue, related to the watts required to fly the heli at the rotor speed desired.

For example: If it takes an average 800 watts to fly the heli in a given manner at a 2000 rotor speed, using a 22.2V 6S pack, then the average current will be 800/22.2 = 36 amps.

The difference to do so between a properly geared 1100KV motor and a properly geared 800KV motor will simply be the difference in the number of teeth on the pinion gear, and maybe a slight difference in ESC settings. But both will be required to deliver 800 watts and use an average current of 36 amps.

Related to the battery pack, if you wanted to do the same using a 5S (18.5V) pack, you would again need a different pinion and would require higher current. The math is simple: 800/18.5 = 43.25 amps.

For an idea of current draw to expect, I saw 44 amp peaks when using FunKey 550mm composite blades at 2000 ish headspeed and 11 degrees of pitch in a full collective punch out. This was read using telemetry.

I ended up going with Deans and 4mm bullets on the ESC. I'm not a smack 3D flyer so I don't think I'll be melting any equipment

ALL of the electronics are finally here and appear to be in working order. That YEP sure has lots of programming options - some tweaking to be done there during the initial flights for sure.

Does anyone have pointers/experiences regarding the YEP setup they might be willing to share?

That's a great idea Ngin! I'd like to give those Monokote trim sheets a try - I guess it depends if I can minimize the wrinkles .... loads of colors for sure.

Do you know if that material is soft/workable or is it stiff like the original NX decals ?

It is much more flexible then the decals.
