Default Is this normal? Ys91srx

When I look into the carb I can see a gasket sticking out between the carb and case. Is this gasket supposed to stick out or should it be flush?

I have not look at mine recently but this does not seem right, you would expect to have a clear path down the carb throat down to the crankshaft.

Got in touch with ys. They said it's not normal and they are going to send me a new gasket. Great customer service YS.

I love YS.
But, in this case, assuming it is a brand new "out of the box" motor, I would have sent it back to them for repair.

I expect that if you have a lot of experience with YS motors, you will easily be able to remove the regulator, remove the throttle body.
You will probibly notice the the gasket is reversed or upside down.
The reassembly is a bit of a challenge though.
And, if you get it wrong, the engine will be a pain until whatever got screwed up in the reassembly is fixed.

If this was brand new and never run, i would have sent it to Reno for repair.

It was new out of the box. Ys said that I could go ahead and disassemble it to replace the gasket my self and that it would not void my warranty. It was not hard at all to remove the gasket. Just 6 screws. It ended up being that the cutout in the gasket was smaller than the carb opening. Looked like it was a gasket for a ys 60 or another smaller motor. No big deal. Small things like this happen with any product. I'm just glad ys is taking care of it and sending me a new gasket.
