I've Googled and Googled and Googled and Googled this question to no avail
Best I can suggest is send it as a suggestion for future upgrades to Horizon. hats what I did. If enough of us ask for it you never know....

Inactivity timer ? What's that ? What's it for ?

Why do I get the feeling I missed something in the manual.

Inactivity timer is when you have radio on an no inputs are made for a set amount of time, radio will then vibrate and beep until u move a switch or knob on the unit.

It's so if you forget to turn it off it will beep beep letting u know that ur radio still on. Doesn't inactivity timer give u a wake up call by reading it?

Hi guy's

I just purchased a DX8, and it is the first time that I am using a gyro menu, I was always using end points. so below 50% I was in rate mode and above 50% I was in heading lock.

With the gyro menu I can't see when I am in rate or lock mode?

I thing I am missing something here!!!!

Unlike some other radios with gyro menu gains that range from 0% to 100%, the DX8 has a -100% to 100% range. In general, -100% to 0% is Rate Mode, and 0% to 100% is HH mode.

Hi Bob,

Once again, than you so much for your work you put into this. I must ask though, if you are still planning on finishing this informative series?

Kind Regards
Jason

Default DX8 download

Easy quiestion (I think I know the answer)

Do I have to download all the beta versions for the DX8 software? Or just the lastest?

Thanks in advance.

have had my DX8 since March 2012, couldn't get any help as how to get into rate mode and then about Aug 15 I made the discovery on my own. Wasn't a member of Helifreak then, wish I had been. There is so much in the manual that is not described and HH replies to emails is poor. I finally called in to get this info, of course after I mad the discovery just for verification. Thanks for the videos.

I often fly just outside my garage door, when I put my heli away I more often than not forget to turn off the Tx and usually just after I close the overhead door and begin wag away I hear the Tx start hollering at me. So I don't complain too much when I'm setting a heli and the Tx start yelling, as it beats not having a charge when I do want to fly.

Welcome to HF! This hobby is addictive, and potentially expensive. Enjoy!

Hi There
I am thinking about up grading my radio to the DX8 but reading a log of negative stuff about the radio it self.
What do you think of yours?
Regards
Dave

For a modestly price unit, the DX8 offers a fairly sophisticated firmware with free updates with ever expanding telemetry capabilities. Many agree that Horizon Hobby offers exceptional customer service. There were initial issues with the gimbals and centering issues, but HH offered to fix all the affected units, and new units do not suffer from such problems. The DX8 has been successful enough for dedicated cheaper aftermarket Lipo batteries alternatives. I have not heard of a modern gyro or FBL unit that is not compatible with DSMX. Compared to similarly priced transmitters, it seems to be a Ford vs Chevy type of argument.

buy it. I love mine. Have had zero problems. Easily replaced the antenna this weekend due to my own fault.
