Default castle talon 90

just curious on the new 550l that come with the talon 90, and with a skookum 540 if you have full throttle set, does a red light stay on the esc? I was told to set the esc throttle points through a reg receiver then plug it into the fbl unit. When I first tried to spool the heli it seemed very slow and (yes the radio settings are correct! just wondering because when I fly mine after 5 minutes both the motor and the esc are almost lukewarm to cold. but it does not sound like it is hitting full throttle1
