Default Electric motor bearings

Been searching round for a definitive answer but can't find one.

I''m replacing the bearings on one of my 6HV motors do I loctite the new ones in?

Some people say yes others say no.

I would, yes ... but be careful not to get any in the actual bearing.

I don't think there's a definitive answer.

If you use too much of the bearing retaining compound then additional heat and force may be required to remove bearings later, resulting in potentially damaging other parts of the motor in the process.

If too little is used then a spun bearing could wear out the shaft.

I use it very sparingly, about three tiny drops equally spaced around the outer bearing race.

I replaced the bearings in this motor twice and never used locktite. It is not really necessary as they dont have anywhere to go really. Bottom is held by the stator and top by the snap ring.
