X-Cell 60 Upgrade with OS70SZH
If anyone has upgraded an X-cell custom or other model from a 60 engine to an OS70SZH, can you please share pros/cons of your upgrade. I am considering doing this upgrade. Thanks, Rich

You'll loose a few revs of headspeed is all; the 70 doesn't turn as fast as a 60 ..
That said , mine pulls like a train !!!!!

I'll be replacing my OS61. Do you know if I'll need to make any mods to the drive line, crankshaft or gearing, or is it basically a direct replacement? What headspeed should I expect for idleups with 30% and 690 Radix blades? Thanks for your help and any suggestions. Rich

I changed only the motor; all else is good..
I don't run 30% ; 20% is all the grunt I want , it pulls 1850 no worries.. Never tried , or wanted to , run it harder .....

Hey Rich...
I haven't put a 70 in but I have swaped out on old .61 SFN for a .91 HZ. The 60 custom was evolved from the earliest bent metal frame heli as well as sold as a complete kit and you can find them today with greatly varying components. Unless you have a very old variant with wire drive tail you should be able to just drop the motor in. It's possible you have a 31 1/2 in tail boom and if that is the case, be careful about putting longer main and tail blades. If you find you have noticeably more power and want to try longer blades, it might be worth looking at the 33" boom and TT. Bill
