A good source for light sticks is http://www.technomoves.com/.
I use the 6 inch ilumix.
The ilumix sticks are LED with a switch. and so far after a year and a half the only set that I have damaged was landing out in the swamp.
Go figure, they are fuel proof but destroyed instantly by water.
The hold up to vibration quite well.

FWIW
I have had the best luck with the Glowire brand wire and inverters.

nightgraphix.de seems to have a nice setup. looks like it'd be easier to keep balanced(sp?). i don't know though. don't even have a heli yet, but once you have the skills, night flying must be so cool. i'm working to get the heli in the next couple months. what does everyone think of nightgraphix.de's setup? or others?

www.xerogear.com AWESOME LED setup at a fair price and easy to wire. Has an addon module to control brightness from transmitter.

Thumbs up http://readysetglo.com/

This is the best glow paint ever. I used it on all my fishing lures. Mix it with clear coat and spray it on. 1 hour in the sun and it will glow brighter then any leds.

How long does it glow for? Also, it's hard to leave it for an hour in the sun...by the time I get home these days, it's already as dark as midnight. Can I just leave it by a lamp?

Their site says that the glow-paint will only emit light for around 2 hours however... and that vary's even depending on the color of paint. I dunno... I don't think I'd feel comfortable trusting that stuff. It also says that it's got a "shelf-life" of about a year. I'm not sure if they mean the paint in liquid form is good for a year, or if the final result after application is good for a year.

Finally they do say that it can be easily charged up using either florescent lights or using a black-light. In fact they seem to recommend the black-light as the next best thing to charging the paint in direct sunlight!

I'm going to stick with glowire and glosheets (for lighting up decals and reverse-masked lettering). I just trust it better.

Is anybody ever going to produce LED main blades for light flying with 3 colors in the larger sized blades (ie. longer than 600mm)??? My small Falcon 3D has a wonderful set of 3 color carbon fiber main blades that emit green, blue, and red light. Looks spectacular at night!

The blades I've found for my 60 sized X-Cell though (680-690mm length) are all only 2 color and it's always red and yellow... which don't contrast all that well. I've noticed that MS Composites has 2 color blades with green and yellow (or red) but only up to 600mm long! Align makes 3 color blades but only up to 600mm long! Grrrrrr!

Why can't they give us more choice in the LED colors on these larger blades??? I don't get it.

Wow! The NightGraphx blades look AWESOME! And they even come in my size (690mm)!!!

Only thing is I can barely read their site and haven't a clue how much they cost or how to order the things... lol!

Anybody else know anything about their blades or if there is a US importer perhaps? What English there is on the website is difficult to read and the costs are not in US dollars so I've no clue what these things run.

If you haven't gone and looked at their site you really really need to go look!!!

Yikes!

Yeah those are gonna have to drop a bit before I could begin to afford putting that much money at risk. Any crash for any reason destroys the main blades... don't ask how I know this!

Thanks for the info though.

FYI blades are available separatly for just 269 euro. Those are the blades separatly, so if you crash you only have to replace those.

My mind's willing, but my bank account is refusing! I'm gonna have to just get another set of MS Composites 2-color LED blades for now. The NightGraphix blades are still just a bit too high... they'd need to be no more than $200 USD before I'd be willing to risk flying them. $150 USD is already a strain to lose when it all goes bad... which it did this New Years Day in fact (lost the tail in flight, 25 feet off the deck... wasn't pretty!).

Thanks for the info though. I'll keep looking at that pic of those blades and dreaming on....
