This will be awesome. My basement finishing project will start next week.. I could use a table saw to cut the 2x4 frame pieces. This might just fit the bill!!

Thx, ddj74, that IS a real test. Now, the gear problem seems to be solved. Can't wait to get those gears. (Gotta be patient - shipping to Germany is slated for early January)

That all nice, I say slam it into the ground and keep the power on . Then lets see the gears. This seems like a fan cutting down it's blades.Nice for sure but gears strip when things get jammed and the power is on.No gear will take that something has to give.

You are missing the point. They are not designing a unbreakeable part...just a stronger one. This is perfect for those mistakes with tail strikes while landing. If it was unbreaka ble...something will give. If they wanted unbreakable it would be made out of titanium or something. Power was on at tail strike not like the other demo where it was gradual and a inverted crash like the other videos.

Well I owe Align and their support team an apology. They came through and stood behind their product, as it should be. A few replacement parts is money well spent by the company and will yield big dividends. Like dear old Dad says, "The customer pays the bills."

Wasn't this already linked in post #67 of this thread nearly a month ago?

The point being, the shaft pictured at the beginning of the video still has the step down. I'm sure the final release version without the step down will do just as good at cutting wood or real-time blade shortening, if desired.

Indeed. I have to give credit where it is due.
Most other companies ignore problems for years if not forever, and even get their fans to cover them up.
NO company addresses issues like Align.

I emailed flying-hobby last week asking about getting the new tail shaft H70G005XX
Just got a reply today confirming they will send it out free of charge.

Pity I had to chase them about it but great that they are doing the right thing in the end.
Well done flying-hobby, you have a loyal customer in me

Yep, I got the same confirmation Steemo but they don't have stock until next week at the earliest. I'm grounded until I get the upgrade, so may just take the hit of $25 and use another dealer to get it here asap.
(I'm aware you've don't have this issue as your bird is in the air now anyway)

Yeah mine's going well but I'll get a lot of piece of mind once I get the new shaft and hub in.

Funny thing is mine used to resonate at 2000rpm but not 2150.
after my re-build last week the vibe now comes in at 2100 and is not there anywhere below, so I'm now running 1900 and 2000 governed and loving it. I previously wanted to run these speeds but didn't want to fly it while it was threatening to snap the tail shaft.

That is weird. Was the lower headspeed resonance with the stock Align 520s/550s or with the Rails? Maybe the slight weight differences were enough to give varied HS and resonance 'sweetspots'?

Btw, I'm going to give the 112t main gear M1 upgrade a go. May as well cos' I'm changing out everything else that has teeth, and see how that goes.

Didn't matter what mains I used, with my edge tails the resonance almost disappeared but was still there previously at 2000 and lower and now 2100 and higher. I have changed the Main gear to the new CNC black one, new boom supports, had to replace the Torque Tube so the bearing spacing might be different, also now using the aluminium boom. Few of the head parts got replaced too but I doubt that would contribute to the change of my resonant range as the vibe it way too high a frequency to have anything to do with the head.
