Default Futaba T8FG Transmitter Review

Been hearing good things about this radio for a while - with the recent release of v3 of its firmware update with enticing goodies like multiple gyro control, ready for the Futaba FBL GY750 and stick calibration I had to get one to check out

FIrst video is an overview and updating the firmware - plan to follow by review of the menu functions, some of the new features - like swash end travel trimming and then a complete A-Z set up on one of my helis - probably the Furion 450 for starters - maybe Bob will chip in with his vast Futaba expertise and experience

Video 1 - Futaba T8FG transmitter - overview and firmware update - wmv 81MB

Video 2 - Futaba T8FG - Navigation of Menus - wmv - 54MB

Video 3 - New Features in v3 Firmware upgrade of T8FG transmitter - wmv - 44 MB

Video 4 - Setting Gyro Gain on the CGY750 using the T8FG - wmv - 188MB

Video 5 - Setting up the swash on a new flybarred heli - wmv 29MB

Video 6 - Single-axis gyro gain setup on the 8FG

Default Review T8FG

Excellent video. Well done John. Just followed instructions for upgrade ..........hey it works! ( What else do you expect from Futaba.)

Big question is, will it cause any unforseen problems on T500FBL with Beast X? Flew o.k.

Look forward to further videos.

Nice vid John, looking forward to the series!
Piotr, I just switched from X9303, couldn't be happier! It's nice with the vbar also, not to mention upcoming CGY750. Mine ordered from Germany came with a 2800 mAh LiIon and charger, and Sbus receiver

Default Menu Navigation

Next up we cover the menu navigation using the compact SensorTouch gizmo - it works well but takes a little getting used too - most of the functions pretty obvious but that S1 switch on the bottom has lots of functions so that's the learning point !

For me it's the only flaw on this radio... It seems it won't be cured with any firmware upgrade, the buzzer is already giving it's max...

Hello John,
I have had this TX for about a year and love it. The addition of 3.0 firmware update is great allowing extra channels for using S.Bus. I also have a 10C and hardly ever use it anymore. I like this TX alot more. Also RC SCREEN PROTECTERS makes a nice screen protector for the display you get a couple in the package.

Is there any way someone could link me the update file? I cannot get Winzip to unzip the file. Not sure why.

Thanks

There's actually 6 files in the .zip and I'd say you need them all so I'd retry downloading the .zip and maybe a different unzipper of which there are many on the web.

I have noticed that a few T8FG users have removed some switches because of the very tight placement by Futaba. Are there any instructions on how to do this? Where can the caps that replace the switches be purchased from?

Thank you for answers in advance.
