ive got a brand new 3GX V4.0. when i down load 5.0 it downloads it into a rar. file. how do i extract that on windows 8.1?

also, will 5.0 show me how to connect the 3GX to the DMSS RG7318X?

Hi pepper,

First, you'll need to download a rar. Extraction program from the internet. Just google a free one. I use jZip
http://www.jzip.com

Secondly, I'm not familiar with Jr Dmss but I'm sure a quick google should give you some answers

Have you bound your tx to the rx? It won't boot up otherwise.

Hi, the RG731BX is a X-Bus receiver but the 3GX v5 is not. So you have to connect all the individual channels to the 3GX. But version 5 is dmss capabel. I think the only way to do dmss with v5 is by using two RJ01 satellites from Align. I do on my trex 450 Sport. Have never tried satellites from JR.

Hi, dont think you can use X-Bus with version 5. Only dmss with rj01 satellites.

I dont think the 3gx v5 can do X-Bus. It can do dmss with Align RJ01 dmss satellites.

The 731BX is an X-Bus receiver. I dont think the 3gx upgrade can do xbus. It can do dmss with dmss satellites. I think thats only with the Align RJ01 satelitte. I does that with my 450Sport but I have not tried anything with JR satellites.

ok... got it fixed and first hover in. not much time today but hopefully tomorrow. STUPID ME... i had every dang connection that went into JR receiver backwards... SO... once that was fixed. everything went smoothly. just went through the basic setup through the tail and hovered. need to fly it to make any other changes. so far. really solid in the hover. the 3GX is connected to the JR receiver just as the "standard hook up" goes. the RJ01 is connected to the JR receiver. it's 4 wire and not 3 so it will not hook up to the 3GX ports on the side.

Got problems with my reply so i had to resend... Too many times... Sorry.

With RJ01 I think you refer to the RA01T that comes with the JR receiver? That satellite can only be used with JR receivers like you do. But if you dont want to use a separate receiver to save space you can now use Align rj01. That is not a JR product but are made by Align for the Trex 150 and, yes it is a DMSS satellite. And you need two of course. DMSS is very new to the 3GX and comes with the V5 upgrade. But you lose telemetry and range. I have just done this but only had a few flights to check the range.. With no problems.
