You very well might be right, my good friend. When was the last time we answered an actual question about a Belt?

Good thing is word is out that this is still the place to go to get the info you need about anything you may fly!

Plus it's a good place to rip on Jerry!

Well, I almost got the 450 re-built. Just got the tail shaft and swapping gyro to do.

Blades balanced out of the box this time, and I've got the AR6115e onboard now. It's next outing will be the maiden of the DX8

Ah, enjoy the beer and your weekends! Always seems to get a bit quiet as Summer approaches, Chris has been trying to get some practice in before the comp at the weekend, but the weather has not been kind.

Hopefully the wind will die down a bit for then as it isn't fun in a tent on a rainy weekend in the UK. I'll try and get some vids and pics of the event (if we don't get washed out) and get those posted up for your viewing pleasure.

Looking forward to this a lot as I know a few of the pilots competing, there is a great mix of talent.

I think it's the new E-sky Bar Fly Less unit???

Consuming several of these will just make the helicopter appear more stable

It's a sorry state of affairs when my friends can't recognise inspiration right in front of them.

No wonder people don't want to take to us!

So, what became of all this inspiration I consummed?

Well, I sobered up, and long and behold it came to me;
I've been having troubles dialing in my Hexa with the 5.06 firmware that came out, so much so that I removed it and reinstalled the old version.
So, as I sober up, knowing full well there was now a version 5.08 out, I loaded it into my WKM.

Long suspecting these expensive Graupner props were not working out either, ( kept getting it to roll off center in i piro, not holding altitude or attitude very well ), I rebalanced my Gaui's and threw them back on.

The results? Extremely happy!

An 8 minute flight left the motors between 91 to 97 degrees F, and the holding power I really wanted!

I did a total of 5 flights to get her dialed in. The first 4 was in pretty rough weather as a storm front pulled thru, winds gusting like crazy and from different directions.

The last one was after the front pushed thry and is pretty calm conditions, small gusts from 1 to 2 mph.

Here is what she looks like today.

I'm liking that Tom. Looking much better. Is this the platform you will go with when you get under the goggles?

Cheers

Eventually.

Right now the vtx is on the f450 quad, until I get a lot more comfortable with it, then it will migrate back to the Hexa, and I'll run 2 each 5000mah batterys in parallel.

Felt like I had hit a road block when I downloaded the 5.06 firmware. She didn't fly worth a crap afterwards.
Now I'm very, very pleased with it.

Just about time now to take it back up into the mountains and get some shots,,,, before the forest fires burn everything down. It's been a super dry year.

My new toy is on the bench today....

I knew it was going to be a better quality heli than my cpx, just wasn't expecting this much of a difference. One of the things that stuck out to me is the sheer speed of the tail servo, my god that thing is fast.

Doesn't look like I'll be flying it for a week or so though, the forecast is utter crap here

Haven't even had a chance to power up mine before heading out for Brazil

I recommend you do a full AR7200BX setup from zero on yours, as I'm planning on doing on mine. Blue/white canopy really sucks, the visibility on it will be in <25m range, will have to stick something red/orange/yellow on it

I was planning on going through the setup, it's something I'm going to have to get used to anyway.

And I'm pretty sure the canopy is some kind of inside joke, don't see how they could've possibly picked worse colours. Think I'll end up getting a new canopy for it, the fusuno pineapple one looks nice.

This big job is coming to an end, but I still got some more to do yet. Another 5/6 days over next 2 weeks, but at least I'm managing to keep the FFFD weekend clear.

So, I finally got some time to play put the tail on the 450! Thought I would have time to take it away with me, and work on at night, but most days have been non-stop till about 10-11pm, by which time I'm shattered!!

Hopefully, will maiden it in garden later with the DX8, ESC throttle range re-programmed, new TX & gyro settings tweaked, bind and re-bind the new RX at start and end of process etc.

comatosed - The blade 450X is an excellent heli! I have plenty of them and they have all flown hard 3D perfect out the box!
I wouldn't do a full re-setup of the beast X, it is set up VERY well for this model as standard. Literally bind it, put in the correct settings out the book into your TX and go fly! I turn Pot 1 up 1 notch to get it more to my liking, but apart from that I wouldn't recommend playing around with it.

Appreciate the input Grant but it's a little too late lol. Gone through it twice now, it was something I had to learn how to do anyway. But to be honest, all I did was go through and set the defaults, just wanted to have a play.

Hopefully I'll get to see how it flies before too long. Had it two weeks and between the bad weather and work all I've done is test hover it. Love the soft start btw, throttle hold on, flip the idle up switch and take hold off. Accidentally did it with my CPX once, that was funny. Praying for some decent weather, I'm desperate to get this heli in the air properly.

Think I'll be able to make it to the funfly as well, but only for a couple of hours on saturday. Still, will be nice to put some faces to the names.
