Then I'm really stumped as to why several people on this and other boards are making a huge issue out of this. They are also stating the aluminum frames are dangerous. I know not all of the 500-up class helis come with CF frames. I realize bigger birds are more dangerous so you need to be heads-up checking out this new kit. But I know even the align birds have QC problems at times to. It's a very good idea to go through any kit you buy to look for problems.

Ok, got it and build it.Well, I am not so confortable with it.
Most of the parts are plastic, and doesn't give me a good impression. The hely is very nice looking, seems huge, specially because the canopy. In the kit I did not find the spacer for the main blade grips...so I arranged some other spacer. The gear are very noisy when you turn it.I suggerst to pass all the nuts with thread lock..is a must.I will istall teh electronic as soon I will receive the servos (Turginy).Keep you posted. Chris

My Logo 20 is all plastic, as is a lot of my Protos, including the grips (3200rpm).
One assumes people brought up on T-Rex 450 SEs and T500's have assumed that metal is better.

Lets all compare a $55 clone with blade grips made from recycled lolly wrappers to that of high end better quality plastic of Raptors, Logo's and Aligns thats a good idea My son has a HK450, fantastic for the money and its exactly what one would expect....but put that next to a better heli and it makes you wonder how the hell it gets in the air....but a bigger heli made from this rubbish........

I can't believe composite blade holders are a safety issue unless they are really awful plastic. The one thing I would check is the threading in the feathering shaft and the attaching screws. That needs to be good hardware. That's the one failure point that would let a blade loose in the air if that screw strips or backs out. I would even go as far as suggesting replacing the feathering shaft and screws with align parts if it even looks questionable. One of my pre-flight checks is to look at the spacing of the blade holders on the head. If it looks wrong, there is a problem. Also use blue lok-tite on those screws too, of course.

Well, now the model is done, I am bit worry for the spacer on the main blade holder...in the kit they miss it...I replace it with something else, but of course, is not the same things... Let go to install the electronics... Chris

i was reading on another forum about this guy getting the HK500 and installing tower pro servos, knock-off gy401(g401b) and super small tail servos like jr290 and a hope and a prayer that it will fly. this i believe is what makes it dangerous.

its advertised as 100% compatible with trex500. but we wont get the true answer till people start building, flying and crashing to give a real answer to your question.

YEP!
I 've got the CopterX version of the Trex 500,CX500 and honestly it's just as good as the Trex I would say even better as far as the kit goes, carbon side frames, aluminum battery plate main shaft block's ,tail boom bracket, gyro plate, the only down side is the belt drive but no biggie could be easyly upgraded to torque tube.

Nothing wrong with a belt driven tail - ignoring Align for a moment some of the best helis made use a belt driven tail. |

Sorry, I couldn't resist - I know the subject has been done to death but given a choice I would go with the belt. |
