That is definitely not a stock Trex 500. It's either a conversion kit or some kind, a semi-clone that had parts replaced with Align over the years, or something custom someone put together. The head and bearing blocks as well as everything from the boom mount back appear to be stock Align (I think the tail grips are Tarot though). The motor mount I'm not sure of, it looks like a Trex motor mount but it's black like the Gootch RC trex 500 clone parts. The battery tray is CF so that's not stock either. The frame and the aluminum cross bolts are absolutely not stock Trex 500 parts. The frame looks like 2mm CF (stock Trex 500 frame is 1.6mm) Did you ask the person you bought it from where he got it?

Yep, it's just spektrum stickers. Looked all over for manufacturer, nothing marked on frame. Thanks for help, looks like I wont find a canopy or frame if they need replacing, will just by a gaui 425 or rex and transfer electrics if (when) I break it!

Did the original owner know anything about it?

Those standard sized servos won't fit in a Trex 500 without an aftermarket frame but they should fit in a Gaui 425 (not sure if the X4 can use full size servos)

RE EDIT: Removed incorrect information.

You are correct, those holes looked like 40x20 to me but apparently they aren't

That thing looks freakin' sick helibadger! Will soooo be doing that to mine!

Here's mine. 3gx, 500m, CC Phoenix Ice 75 esc, DS510's on cyclic, JR3400 on tail, Fusuno canopy. Haven't had this 500 long but I tell you coming from a 450 this bird brings awesomeness to a whole new level

Does anybody recognise the make / model of frame?

Kinda looks like one of the early CHP (custom heli products) frames that were made about 1.5 years ago, but looks even closer to the early compass atom 500

You might try the tarot mount with those skids so it still looks scale. http://www.ac-rc.com/product_info.ph...ihmvbfstuc5he4

Good find, I'll give them a try, the 700 mounts are on now and look a bit heavy duty.
thanks
