Hey Jerome its Herman...
Wont be able to try the SB's until the end of the week, but I changed Headspeed earlier today after we spoke. Went from 2080 to 2170-2190..... It's friggin rediculous let me tell you! I think thats what it needed, Cause It feels alot quicker now, even with the vblades on.
It will most likely be even crazier with the 610's or 600SB's but we'll know for sure later this week when I put them on. Keep in touch.

Herman

Ps. for those reading..... Im runnin Trex 600 nitro 13/-13 with 8 cyclic, Vblades 600mm extreme, Kasama head, KME with Xlite pipe w/ head never reading past 180F(dont lean her out as she likes fuel, it will bog otherwise) and a Whoppin 2170-2190 on the head with an 8.5 gear ratio. For starters do 2050-2080 and go up from there if needed, but beware u start loosing some torque the higher in rpms u go. Any other questions and Jerome is your man.

Herman, Thanks for the info I could not have said it better. I think if you put on the 610mm your going to go nuts...

Thanks

Update...... Bolted on some Curtis 600 SB's and raised pitch to 14/-14. I can't bog it now and its a rocket(as described). I don't think im gonna need to try the rotortechs as these are Fast enough. Every maneuver was done effortlessly and as fast as the 700.

Keep in touch

Mel,
I'm loving my KME. I am not having any issues. I was wondering if you could share with us anything you've learned about the 60 since it's been in the consumers hands that we should know? Just trying to throw something out there. I realize you guys have a lot of engine experience, but this is a new area for you all. Any changes you expect to make down the road? Any plans for a carb?

P.S. I mentioned in the Velocity 50 thread that I think you all and Charley should come up with a special edition package when his 90 comes out with the 1.10 you are developing!

There is a few people that had some issues with Air leak around the OS carb making the engine run a little lean and losses power. We have a great fix. We use a 1mm o-ring on the bottom of the intake port and you take off the aluminum washer that comes with the OS. If you need one let me know.. I can walk you through it...

Other than that everyone has been very happy with the KME Engine. But remember There is a lot of People that need help setting up and thats what this Thread is for...

Yes, We will be coming out with a 110 and we are testing the KME carb for it right now. I should have some sneak peek photos very soon. I will post them.

I stopped by to see what folks were saying. I saw them at IRCHA in Outrage Velocity heli's, but haven't seen much discussion. Am simply weighing my options of the various new engines. Wanted to hear what issues people are discovering with their new KME's- that's all.

Sandy, What's the power like?
Is the back plate Hot when you get done with a flight? How Hot, can you keep your finger on it or is it to hot to keep your finger on..

Is it Idling Smooth?
It May need the thicker Head Gasket. But please answer the questions first so I can diagnose the problem

When And Where did you Buy it?

Power is great at ~18000 revs (2070 HS at 8.7)
Back plate is warm but can keep the finger on it definitively.
Idle is smooth and comes down quickly going to hold.
Fuel is 30% Coolpower.
It is a mystery to me.. If I hadn't pulled the muffler, I wouldnt have questioned.

Keep running it.
