Nice! Im thinking of this exact setup myself..

What are you using for your landing standoffs? They add some nice height and look simple, etc...

Sweet I was looking at that and the Hex version. Did it come with the Naza system? Where did you get it from?

Landing gear are just 3/16 flat carbon rod ziptied with one screw to keep them from slipping down and a little automotive vacuum line nipple cover thingy to hold the bottom together. Simple, light, inexpensive, easily removable, and look good IMO because the flex of the carbon flows with the natural lines of the frame.

Purchased with NAZA form DJIusa and some parts from Rchelihobby (long story) both decent sellers.

Looks like a RMRC-540 camera, and the antenna looks to be a 1.3Ghz BlueBeam (for the video transmission)

You dont fly by the GoPro; it's just to record HD video. The live video you fly by is from the RMRC-540.

nice work! I've got a vic450 frame and I like it but this looks much lighter. Very interesting...Are the arms pretty rigid and crashworthy? What is that mounted next to your receiver? Lipo alarm?

I forgot to ask how your experience has been with the Naza? Can you compare it to the Gu 344 on the Gaui? "I'm feeling my wallet getting lighter"

naza is a much stronger flight controller. expecially now that it has the GPS addon for $160 more.

that said, it seems most flying with a Naza are flying in auto leveling... feels like a FP heli or Coax.

i like gyros only, flys more like a CP heli

i started with the Gaui 344 and have since moved on and out of all the flight controllers I have owned in the last 9 months here is the order.

Gaui 344 < KK <multiwii < CopterControl < HoverFly Pro (not GPS) < DJI WKM

just from my experience.

the HFpro + GPS would be very close to the DJI WKM, perhaps equal. They both have different strengths

yep
http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1652849

crazy that the news hasnt spead faster... it was announced about a week ago.

the WKM will be getting some new undisclosed features in a new firmware update in 2-3 weeks.

Basically the Naza will get PH, RTH and IOC ....... so you get a WKM for $169 more.

hence why they will be announcing new features for the pissed off WKM owners who spent $700 more than the Naza+ GPS for the same features.

the Naza will still have handicapped camera gimbal outputs (90 degrees of travel and 50hz for analog direct drive gimbals only) (same as the WKM has today)

the WKM is rumored to have a firmware update that will open up servo travel to 180 degrees and perhaps up to 400-500hz

thats all i know .....

pre-orders here
http://www.rc-drones.com/gpswaypoints.php

looks like 2 weeks before dealers get them

Okay so it doesn't have waypoint like the WKM but still for $169 that's pretty damn sweet! I'll wait a few months for public reviews before ordering. Looks very promising.

I hadn't heard that before! Drooool...

Does the Blue Beam antenna have a significant performance improvement over the stock antenna? What are you using for a receiver antenna?

1. Definitely, I'd venture that I get a little better range and probably at least double the quality/clarity then I was with the whip and tuned patch. Plus I can fly behind me now and still have the same reception.

2. I am using the skew planar for the receiver

And since they are polarized they will reject any rf reflections

I would never recommend flying with the stock antennas.

At minimum an inverted v

Would you recommend this?

or

with/or

?
So confusing. I have a readymaderc system 1.3 GHz with a 300 mW transmitter. I have a lot of trees and other obstacles.

Edit: the third link is supposed to go to the 1.3 GHz skewed planar but for some reason it redirects to the cloverleaf.
