Thumbs up New Futaba Tx SoftWare

Futaba have issued new Software for most of their Tx's.

I installed it last night and have yet to find out exactly how it will be better. I had a quick look through the release notes but I was beer affected at the time.

There is now a start-up warning if the throttle stick is not at low throttle, plus lots more.

No, not really.
It has some different stuff in it but it won't make any of us fly any better.

I like the throttle position check upon startup, I really love that the Tx goes straight into transmitting without asking questions that need to be answered (shortened the turning on procedure down to about 5 seconds on a 14MZ).

I am sure other things will show up over time, but for those two things alone I would say go and get the free upgrade. It took about 10 minutes to update the Tx including copying all files from the Tx onto the CF card and then onto the PC and back again (the model memories in my Tx where all still there and functioning properly).

If you would like a hand to do the upgrade, I would be glad to help out.

So there isnt a great deal in it, been thinking about just cant see the benifits for me unless there there is 3d smack switch.

I thought the transmit thing was good saves on battery juice while programming

Will give it some more thought, still getting my head around the 12z as it is but love this radio its insane, Thanks for the offer mick

Cheers

You can still turn off the transmit side of things to go through programming.
With the 14MZ you just turn the radio on with a finger on the touch screen, then the transmit yes no question will appear. Not sure what you have to hold down with a 12, but it will be in there somewhere, you still need to power up with RF off to do a range check.
