Default New to Mikdo - 480XX on the way!

Just recently jumped on board the Vbar Control train, along with three Neo's (want that rescue!) and have ALWAYS wanted a Logo. Went the spendy route, and overkilled it as usual:

Green/Yellow 480XX/Scorpion (first Scorpion motor)

3 x MKS HV9767

1 x MKS HBL990

YGE120LV V3 (have a spare)

Neo Vlink

Looking into the Spedix tail case, anyone recommend this upgrade?
Anything else that's a "nice to have" upgrade?

Either way, quite excited to finally own/fly a Mikado heli. Smart move would've been to grab the super combo, but I've had nothing but success with MKS and had the newer 120LV V3.

I'll read through the forums to get a feel for pitfalls during the build, though sounds like it's quite a nice kit to assemble

Oh, does the kit include servo horns?

I have the Spedix tail and it is nice but a pain to work on. It also uses a non stock tail shaft that is longer so you need to be careful setting your tail end points. The issue with the stock tail are the plastic clamps. Save yourself some $$ and get this instead:

http://www.hawk-rc.com/index.php?rou...roduct_id=1389

It solves the problem and keeps all the stock Logo parts.

Thanks guys, just what I wanted to know. Will certainly grab the turnbuckles as they're a must when available. Will look into Hawk-RC tail clamp

Edit: I see no way of actually ordering the turnbuckles from FBLRotors.. wonder if they're still available? Contact number has been disconnected as well. All too common in this hobby it seems. I don't see a lot of support for these helis, I'm hoping I didn't jump on board towards the end of it's life cycle.

For FBLRotors you need to set up an account to place an order. Also try this number 425 229-4545.

Tried that number, disconnected. Made account, still no way to order Mikado turnbuckles. The 480XX is still a fairly new model right? Mikado usually support their stuff for awhile?

Ah, well that makes me feel better, looks like part support is no issue with Mikado USA. Anyone else making turnbuckles that'll work on the 480?

A new 480 will be released. Mikado people said after the release of the new 700, so it may be in a year or so.

You're going to have a blast. Been flying mine all day today.
It's my first logo as well. Still love my goblins but the logo is a great heli.
Only thing I've added to mine is the 600 tail tensioner bearing.

Jim, were you able to order directly off the website, or via email?

Oliver, anything needed for the 600 tensioner mod besides the part itself?

Wondering if it'll be possible to upgrade the current 480 to the new V2 version or if it'll be an entirely new design.. Oh well, if electronics can transfer over and I get a good year or two out of this model I'll be happy.

Nope just part# 04273 the screw that comes with it is longer so you'll have to use your current one and you have to cut down the spacers a little. They're pretty soft plastic I just used a box cutter.

Laughingstill says it's not needed if the belt tension is correct but that's kind of a grey area what's correct so I didn't want to take any chances.

Perfect, and lastly, will the Pulse 4500 6S bats fit the 480? Thought I'd seen mention that they would. Sharing packs with the Goblin 500 would be a big plus - granted they're a bit large. Will grab a couple Pulse 3700's or similar as well.

They fit but to much of a pain for me to take them off of my goblin trays.
I'm getting great flight time with the 3700's. 6-8min

Good to know they fit, trying to save money while I can. This was a spur of the moment buy, I really didn't NEED another heli haha. Even though about parting with my Goblin 500 to ease the hurt on my wallet.. I also didn't need to go all out on MKS servos etc - would've been fine with super combo, it's quite the value.

Haha aren't they all. Good thing with the hobby though it's pretty easy to turn things over so it's not a total loss trying something out.
Im going to try out some nano techs. http://hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store...po%5FPack.html

They look pretty good for $92

How are you liking the stock Scorpion motor? Some say it's just fine, others claiming its gutless. I'm a huge Xnova fan, but swapping motors isn't the easiest with the 480, so would like to stick with Scorpion for the time being. Also read about stripped main gears and swapping main gears and such..

I read that too about the motor but it seems fine to me. It doesn't bog at all. I'm also not worried about the main gear. It seems fine when set with zero backlash.

If mikado was using the scorpion in the video the motor is all I'll ever need
