Default governor gain and headspeed

I've setup governor mode on my sk540 and it all seems to be working . I have 3 headspeeds setup , normal 2800 iu1 3000 and iu2 3200, I just checked it in my garden with a tach and its spot on. so my question is , in the software it defaults to 50% gain, is this too high to start, how will I know if its too high ? second using scorpion calc my headspeed reads 3417 for a hovering heli , is this 100% throttle or what I should set the governed headspeed too, if its 100% throttle then what percentage of that headspeed should I use ?

so iused the figures that i thought and tried it out this morning , all seemed good except that the tail seems to be very sensitive, i think the gain might be too high for the elevator so i'm going to play with that to see if i can get it better, overall the headspeed was pretty consistent especially in tic toc's , i even tried doing it wrong to see what happened and it still held the headspeed.

Default governor gain and headspeed

If your using mr mels, are you selecting ext gov in the drop downs, usually very good at getting you in the right place pinion wise. Then you just set your sk gov to the HS you want. Make sure the gear ratio is bang on.

On larger helis I have gov gain around 30-35 for best results. It's a bit trial and error at 1st.

thanks heathy, I found that one after I posted, I used scorpion calc originally, I set it all up and headspeed was spot on (with the mr mel calculator) and also with the cc logging , flew good this morning so now I just have to decide on a good headspeed,
