Default Have anyone flown the MSHeli Protos?

Hi, i have search the net, and on various forums, including HF, i find a lot of people who have bought, and built the new MSHeli Protos, but all the treads has one thing in common:

They stop when the heli is built, it seems to me that nobody want to post how it actually flies....

I really want one, i think they look great but it would be really nice to read a report from someone who have flown it, and really really nice to see a comparison to the T-rex 500.

Member Long Nguyen is putting one together and I think he'll have it ready to fly by Saturday at OCMA.

Yeah I was wondering if Helifreak was going to dedicate a forum to the Protos, it looks like a nice heli.

The first models only arrived about 10 days ago so that probably explains the lack of flight reports. Mine was one of the first shipped to Australia. Got it on monday. Spent the week building it and plan to test fly tomorrow. I will be sure to report on how it flies

Will this tread end the same way as every other tread i have read about the Protos?

It's big optimism, people are building them, and then the last post is something like; i just finished it, i will fly it tomorrow, and report.

All of these posts are a week old, or older....

Interesting. I've seen several builder flight reports and videos, starting a couple of weeks ago.

I have seen a shake down flight. Nothing hard yet as he was bedding in the packs.
I think there is much potential for this one.

I flew mine for the first time today and it flies great. I only have 3 flights on it so far but it tracks very well in forward flight and is very fast. Did I mention quiet? This thing is so silent all you hear is the blades. No gear noise at all. So far I'm liking it.

So you know because of the all plastic frame Kevin (Fireup) had some serious static issues with his and the belt system. So bad it was glitching the servos. He was able to solve it but I did not catch how he did it. Kevin?

I bet he grounded the boom in some way.

Anyway depending on climate etc... A belt system can generate a lot of static potential on a metal boom. Some may see an issue and some may never see an issue... Wiring etc has a lot to do with it.

Just letting you know what a local here had with his.

Kevin ( fireup ), How did you solve it?

Bob

Yes, all my cyclic servos will twitch every 2 sec. when I spool up on the bench without blades. I solved it by grounding the boom to the motor mount plate.

If you take this wire on the boom side, remove it and leave a small gap about 1/8" apart from the boom and spool up the head, you can cause a spart to jump from the wire to the boom and the servo will twitch at the same time.

Have not gotten a chance to properly maiden it yet (had a tail issue with the first takeoff and needed parts ). will try and do it this weekend.

I just putt around the sky, for me i much prefer the feel of the Protos (i have both).
I guess if you fly hard or want to fly hard then you will need to wait until we get some feedback from the guys that push hard.
