I am sad to report that we have cancelled this event again this year.

My buddies and I just started to get our plans together for this event until we bumped into this post.

I haven't seen any replies and the event is still posted on RC flight deck and the NE crew website.

Is this event indeed cancelled?

Unfortunately it has been cancelled. The RC Flight Desk event should have been removed as well, I will check on that.

this sucks, this was one of my favorite events. Should really let some other people help out if its too much to handle and others are willing

We have never considered asking non-members to help.. It's an interesting idea.. Most of the effort centers around getting the pro pilots to come and getting raffle donations from the vendors. A lot of companies have really cut their budgets in that area... Align, for example, did not have any budget available to send anyone..

So sorry to just find this out. I don't think the vendors or the prizes are why most people go. its an epic event annually. Ill bet there would be plenty of people who would help "fund" This event in many ways.

Dont care about vendors or prizes. The atmosphere of this event is second to none. My son and I have not missed one since the beginning and would even consider just coming up to fly for the weekend if that is ok, maybe others would also attend an informal flying event.

Just for my information, would you consider it a good event even if none of the pro pilots could attend? The reason we need the vendors and the raffles is to take in enough money to get hotels etc. for the professional pilots, like Ben Storick, Jamie Robertson, Tim Jones, Devin LeBlanc etc...

We did consider an informal fun-fly similar to what was done last year but there wasn't much enthusiasm among the members for that..

I was not aware of the informal last year. I WOULD HAVE BEEN THERE.
