Vas,

I'll PM you my details...

I'm already using 4011 tape on the microbeast with a steel plate. I've tried it with and without the steel plate. Dunno where else to go there unless it's stock tape. I've also got the boom support ends JB Welded and screwed into their mounts using green loctite. I've put a makeshift support strap on it in case. Wiring is very free with little or no tension on the wires to the microbeast. My tail bearings are not notchy and the tail if free. Like I said, odd.

I hear ya mate. I ran mine at the culprit rpm range on the ground(no mains) and felt around for a vibe. Swapped tail cases and was all better. Not saying that this is the case on yours.
As said, vbar'd ones don't seem to do the same and the beastx must be more susceptible to certain harmonics that the stiffness of the head give off at certain rpm.

Do the black dampers help at all??

The black dampers made it less and removed it from idle1 and normal. I'm going back to play with it more in a bit after my test battery recharges.

So far, so good. The wobble is gone after setting everything back to factory and doing a resetup of the microbeast. I'll know more when I get to fly it in an open space at speed, but it's looking good.

So... that probably won't take place until Thursday due to my work schedule.

Finally! I got a chance to fly the conversion. With the X5 head it flew wonderfully! No more wobble. Very impressive. I'm going to leave the X5 head on for now and we'll see about the X4 head with X5 grips combo later. I'm impressed! Great work, Vas!

I did have another flight failure. I had to do a forced auto for the same thing as the first flight failure. Only this time I had control of the helicopter and auto'd it at high speed low altitude into tall grass. No Damage! I got to see the error indications on the ESC this time around and I think the ESC and/or Receiver is bad. I'm replacing both to be on the safe-side.

I don't know if this will help you finding the reasons, but I have just recently faced the problem with ESC (standard 50A Gaui).

After almost 2 years of using it during the regular maintenance and by accident I have realized that one of the connector was in place only because of the... shrink tube!!!

I don't know the proper expression in English but we call it "cold solder". Maybe this is the trace to follow...

Jack,

Yep, it's cold solder (sodder... LOL!) joint. Not the problem with mine. I replaced the whole shooting match today, so I had to unsolder the BEC pro leads and everything was good solder-wise. I'm getting too good at ESC/BEC replacements, and forced autos.

i thought i'd do a little update.
LOVING it.

Have started playing with speed passes and it tracks very very nicely. Tick-tocks are easy as and the whole thing just behaves super well.
Need to dial in the beastx alittle as a the moment everything is fairly stock.
No boom strikes to report
Need to get new packs too as my current ones start sagging very very very quickly

Default COOL!

Hey Vas
That Gaui sounds like it has the POWER!
From what I could see, it was very smooth...Looks like a great place to fly and even the bird was chirping ts approval in the background....no Kookabura's?
10:30 PM here right now so I guess I'll just fly my MSR to the kitchen!

Vas,

If you haven't done so yet, upgrade to V3 firmware on th Beastx - it is a significant improvement.

thanks PT and more in reserve Main issue i had was turning maingears into putty after 3 or 4 runs. Have fitted the microheli delrin and seems to so far be holding up. Now to get decent packs in her and start slowly upping everything Should be fun. Only 12 degree pitch at the moment.

No kookaburra's though i'm sure they are around somewhere. We have a couple of hawks that seem to circle the area. Deer, kangaroos, a huge goanna that has given me a scare more than once. Is a gorgeous spot but the plankers who were super friendly when there was only 3 heli fliers are now disgruntled coz we are over 25 heli folk in a few years.

Thanks Mike. Have V3 on it. The poor Hurri gets negelected abit between the others so has only had 2 outings on 3 but could automatically tell the difference on the first hover.
Gain could be increased, tail felt nicer...heck everything felt nicer. I liked V2 but am luving V3

It's the bomb. The low profile looks and is aggressive. With the green kbdd dampers, it's very very sharp. Thanks, Vas!

Hey, It Looks Really Good, Hope it all Turns Out Great!

I am new at this, and am looking at buying a Gaui Hurri 550, and would like to convert to FBL. Just a few Questions, aha

1. Was it hard to do the conversion?
2. How much did the whole Conversion Cost?(Including Electronics)
3. How does it fly??

-Thanks

If Align put their name on a pile of dog crap stuck 2 blades in it and packaged it in a super combo, people would get in line to pre order. I just dont get it
