Default Fury Extreme

I've had a Fury Extreme since last summer. Seems like every time I would go out to fly it, I'd screw up a starter. Let the magic smoke out of one, melted where the contacts go through some plastic on another, found that the gear mesh was bad on another and then yesterday, I sheared a pin on yet another. Thank goodness there was a guy there that had a starter that would hold up.

Anyway......

Yesterday was the first time that I finally got to do more than just hover around. To say that it flies better than my Raptor 50(s) is an understatement at best. WOW! I think I'm in love!!!!!!!!!

I've got one and I use an Align starter. I've never had one break. I think maybe you have some other issues with your motor as far as starting goes. I love the way mine flies too!

Actually, I have learned to start the YS .91ST with no problem. A pin sheared on this last one....guess I'm gonna have to pony up and buy a good starter. I've got enough in what I've already bought to have just got a good one to begin with....no money saved when you have to buy 2 or them.......

I had a ys80st in mine and didn't have any problems with it but found a deal on here for an Align 91 and it flies way better. I too had a crappy starter that I burned up but once I bought an Align starter, No problem starting the .91 or the .50. The starter has good and bad reviews but so far it has been nothing but wonderful for me!

I was using the MPI gear reduction starter on a 4s lipo....that's probably the problem. Too bad you can't just bump it backwards like you can an airplane engine.

This is what I use for starting all my helis, and half of everyone elses at the field .

A 18v conversion for a dynatron It's a little on the steep side but if your only gonna buy one starter make it a good one.

Regards
Joe

I use the MA flexstart on all of my MA models, now with a standard hobbico starter running on 18.5V (5S lipo battery) with no issues at all. Starts my YS80 with ease, not to mention the OS55. And I only have to charge it about once a summer.
