They showcased the new GPower motor in a well used 800-class at Toledo. From what I understand, it wasn't a known current model ....

It didn't look like a APV helicopter. It looked like a pod and boom 3D machine from the photos that I saw.

Look here for photos compliments of my friend, Marc ...

Indeed, a pretty worn out airframe. A good cover up for what they are coming up with...still, a gasser would make sense for aerial photography (flight time +++) and if they can come up with some sort of vibration dampening...would be a good GX series...

At $1000 MRSP for the engine alone, it would be 'ok' for this kind of application but probably way overpriced for regular heli flyers.

Some time ago in a newspaper from Florida, I do think it was in the Orlando Blowout 2012 ?... but don't recall it perfectly ... Bobby Watts mentioned he was working on a NX7 ....
The 800 Gasser was used for a while before being "presented" at the Toledo show ... the machine wasn't exposed for a long time on Friday as I've seen it late afternoon and spent 1 entire day there ...
Now Gaui please unleash a 550 blades machine with an OS55 and you'll have made me happy ...

That 50cc gasser in a X7 type heli would be nice I think...

Power would be good and run time... reliability also over a 90 nitro..

I know the engine will probably cost twice a nitro - but gassers run for ever with little maintenance vs nitros.. you can expect to pay the same price over time repairing/maintaining nitro engines anyway.. the gasser will/should be fill and fly..

I remember 20 years ago when Cliff Hiatt won the F3C World champ he came in France (was living there at this time) and he had a 4 Stroke YS in one of his machine ... not very stellar from what I remember and true you fly a long long long time but vibratinos are very high on a 4 stroke compare to a 2 stroke engine and I wonder how a FBL unit will respond to this ...
It's working for sure now, is it really a way to chose for the future ?... not super convince that it's the way ....
I do think the 800 gasser might use some parts from a big nitro helicopter but it's pure speculation ..... I guess we'll just have to wait, see and hope Gaui did a good job with design and QC ...

Gassers, I don't see how they even compete with Nitro when it comes to performance. Who cares about long flight times. Tell you the truth, I get tired of standing past 6 minutes. My Nx4 (which I love) gets 630 on the clock and by the end of the flight I'm ready to sit down.

I'm hoping for an NX6 .50 Nitro, that would be the cats ass! But my guess is the NX7.

Sadly it will be unecessairly heavy ... a 550 with Os55 will be better for power/weight/consumption ratios.
but it will probably be another 700N ...

It won't be a 250 size but a bigger one ... remember Watts saying in a newspaper he was working on a NX7 ... so I bet you can expect a 700 nitro !...
