Default Esky ESC shows free will then dies

The Esky ESC decided today by free will to start and stop the motor at zero throttle input. It did that a few times, then silence... complete silence, even as I increased the throttle. The poor ESC joined the so many other Esky ESCs in the Nirvana of ESCs where they cannot feel the harshness of the amperes anymore. It passed away at the venerable age of 81 flights, showing a rather unusual longevity for an Esky ESC. Rest in peace, you will not be forgotten!

Default Esky apologized

Esky got back to me and were very apologetic for having got my ESC wrong. They said they had designed their ESCs to function somewhere from 0 to 20 flights and apologized for the fact that my ESC was out of specs. They assured me that their engineers were working hard so that such cases would be kept to a minimum.

Don't laugh with the Esky engineers, they are the only ones capable of making an ESC which allows you to:

1) fly your heli in summer outside, and use the heatsink as a barbecue afterwards.
2) fly your heli in winter inside your house, and enjoy free heating.
3) scare the hell out of the cat when it spools up violently, because of this special "hard-start" feature Esky developed.
4) keep this hobby very exciting, as you never know if it won't come down unexpectedly...

In my early r/c heli days I read somewhere on the web that RTF heli makers reckoned 93% of their helis would have just one flight by a newbie with the inevitable crash.

So perhaps it's Esky policy that if all their electrics work for just one flight then 93% of their customers can't complain .
