Nankin's in Michigan, I'm in central Ohio. The item might have shipped today. Hmm, wonder if I'll be building a heli this weekend?
Even if not, I'm going to take it slow. I've owned a few now - T-rex 250 AND 500 and have about 6 months piloting under my belt and I'm learning quite quickly. I've never built a kit new, and have always bought used. I think I'll savor the experience and create a video/photo log of the build since it's my first. I'll post anything that might be considered a learning tool in a new thread. I'll probably tear down the heli, so does anyone have requests for photos of anything specific? Cullen |

I ordered some stuff from Nankin on Sunday. It shipped Monday and I got it today. 3 days Michigan to Pa. If it shipped today, you might get it on Saturday.

flybar-les,
Just to be clear, it was Simon who pulled the trigger-I was congratulating him.

Weighed my 6HV today: Here are the results! We are still lighter than a Logo 600 equipped with a Vbar

Nice light weight.
I weighed mine on a postal scale today also. 7.64 pounds with two Globby City 3000 35c Turdigy batteries. I mean Hobby City Turnigy. Greg |

How are the Turnigy batteries performing?

I have about 20 flights on mine - they were awesome to start off with but are definitely softening up now in terms of performance and getting a bit puffy - I have had one pack cell go bad in about 12 packs

i have the 30C's for about 10 months now, 50 flights each and still going strong !
the performance is a bit off now and the capacity is dropped to about 2760mah instead fo 3000. internal resistance is about 17-19 milliohm right now and when i just bought them they had about 11 milliohm each... so not bad, i guess those packs will get 100 decent flights before they will loose significant power.

I too was worried when I read that I'd only get 20 flights out of my investment. I've put 25 flights on about 5 different turnigy batteries, all on a T500 and they have NO noticeable loss in performance over the batteries when new, although I baby my batteries and don't fly them very hard.
So are we saying that I should expect their performance to be significantly reduced just because I use them in series in the 6HV, because if true, I wonder if this is the right heli for me. I just bought 4X 3000mah 30C for this heli and would hate to get 20 flights out of them. That would be 40 flights for about $200 OR $5 a flight Any other user experiences? Getting more cycles? Flybar-less, you've got 50 cycles per battery, but is that in the 6HV or in your Atom? |

I do not have my Heli in the air yet. All I have left is some fine tunning.
The 35c Turnigy packs that I have for it are the first Hobby City packs that I have purchased. My airplane flying buddies pressured me into trying Hobby City packs. We will see how it goes, if they don't last long I won't buy them again. Greg |

Hi guys,
i'm using Zippy Flightmax lipo's in my 6HV which have had more than 20 cycles in my ATOM 500 and they still go strong. By now i must have had more than 25 flights with them on my 6HV so no problems here. Keep in mind when you go 12S that you don't stress the lipo's as much as you stress them in a regular 6S setup. Grtz, Dirk

Just to let folks know, A-Main Hobbies now has all three versions of the 6HV in stock as well as many parts returning to inventory. Just passing this on as another resource for us Compass owners.
Nankin Hobby has given us some excellent support through David here in this forum so my news is with no intention of undermining Nankin in any way. |

i did most of the cycles with my Trex 500 and the last 30 flights where with a big pinion and governor(so the lipo's did take some beatings there).
i only had about 18 flights on my ATOM 500 with these lipo's... the 6HV isn't ready yet, the post in Belgium just sc**wed up my delivery from fastlad(that i did 2 weeks ago) and now it seems the package is returning to England, when it arrives it has to be send back so in the worst case i can't get my 6HV up in the air untill next weekend

I have 3 x 3300 Turnigy packs that I run in my Atom. 1 pack has @ 30 cycles and the other 2 have @ 15 cycles each. I'm no 3D pilot but I do run a 10t in gov at @ 2680 and I do punchouts and aggressive sport flying (is there such a thing?). My I.R.'s are all at 5 or less, with an average of 3. I have noticed no change in their performance unless it's getting better. My IR's seem to still be dropping. I almost always charge at 1C or even .5C if I have time, except I have charged a couple times recently at about 1.5C (5 amps) and have almost never gone past 80% discharge and when I did it was probably 81% or 82%. Time will tell. I keep notes of flight times, IR's, mah's put back in and charge rate for every charge on every battery. I should be able to see any drop in performance as my packs get more mature :o.
I certainly hope I don't see a sudden drop off at 50 cycles. I'm hoping to get 100 cycles out of these. So far I really like my Turnigy's, although I did get one from HK that I had to send back due to 2 bad cells. I'm still planning on trying the "Blue Lipo's" at some point to save the shipping. David

I have a Blue lipo @ 10 cycles which hasn't quite opened up to its' true potential. It's a 6s 2650 40C blue lipo and I have a flightmax 40c 2650 that I usually fly right after the Blue Lipo pack. The Flightmax seems to perform better, but I expect the Blue lipo to open up a bit as I said before.
The question remains, will using these batteries that we all seem to enjoy (in our 500 machines) in series, in a 6HV shorten their life span? Why is Mercuriell reporting only getting 20 flights on said packs before they start to puff? Did he punish his packs or is the 6HV too much for these packs? Any insight? |

with the flight max its hit or miss with there packs. i have flightmax one with 100+ flights that perform good still. but i have had some packs that only get 20 flights and you can feel the drop.
