Its like riding a 5200lb greased brick. Flying along at the training field, take your hand off the collective for a second to point at something, and your instructor cuts the throttle on you. The first thing that happens is your sphincter swallows the seat cushion, then it just goes downhill from there...

Sounds fun! would be worried doing it for the first time though!!
been doing a few more today, been going quite abit higher too and they seem to be better the higher you go. That was until that crapy 430x motor just bogged so low the heli smashed into the floor just from a normal loop!

The engine quit on heli he was being transported in and it dropped like a stone........ The pilot just said 'Don't worry we've got this' and put the bird down hard but in one piece Terrifying, just as well you practice it bro

I actually had to do a proper one today from about 300ft - Although the broken tail had slowed the head down alot it definatly soffened the landing.

Prog rep on Helihathnostraightlinkagerods!!!!!!!!
Broke the "barrier"of training gear the other day - boy does the bird both look and fly much better with it off. Was using the RADDs technique of moving to 45 and then sideways hovering - despite my adapted technique!!!!! - and was getting somewhere, but lost it and did the plastic head in. Over-confidence or whatever, was disappointed though. I had a really good setup too and she would hover "hands off" and stay pretty still. Back to a rebuild though............ Elation and despair, oh well................... Mike

LOL !!!!!!!! I feel the healing of my hand is going really well, and I use the fingers quite a lot now that the cast is much lower. But finger to thumb is impossible, hence the different technique - just couldn't sit there.

Put first 2 outside batteries through my heli since fixing it.
It looks great in the air and is much more responsive than before, still seems very smooth to me for such a small heli and really stable in hover even though it respnds to the sticks immediately I am really pleased with it and with the mods Iv'e done. The only thing is I'm flying like a chicken because if I crash it again I'll have to wait a couple of weeks before I can buy any ting else for it

Well...sandstorm today. Yesterday FREAKIN BEAUTIFUL...today...sandstorm.
Well...you know me...only one day a week to fly...soooooooo Of course I was the only one there. Mostly just did all nose in hovering. I'm really pretty comfortable with it. Spent about 5-6 hours on the simulator this week, and it felt good to do it for real today. One minor crash though...lol...decided I was going to try flipping it and I was just resigning myself to the fact I was going to crash, and thus didnt care if I crashed. Well.....I'm at about 30-40' and moving it out in front of me so I have room for the backflip in case I bring it over and it comes back at me...when it just...disappears...LMAO The visibility was so bad. I totally lost it and lost orientation and I just said F' it and lowered the throttle till I saw it impact. Unfortunately...yet again..lowering the throttle in idle up. I can't emphasize enough how I wish I had been flying idle-up all along. It really makes 'unlearning' lowering the throttle quickly a difficult process. Anyways..so woodies are destroyed. (I put them on for the flip..lol) disintegrated..nothing left. Bent flybar. tail paddles gone. and a boom support popped out of the lower mount. Also blew out a rubber bushing from the head. So straightened out the flybar, popped the boom support back in, threw on new paddles, had new blades, but what was I going to do about that missing bushing? About this time my buddy Sean shows up (who was just as desperate to fly as I was) and he says "hey...I've got 4 packets of those new v2 dampeners you can have. They don't fit in my HDX"...well, who am I to turn down an offer like that? So I put them on...and man are they tight to get on the feathering shaft (which BTW went unscathed in the crash. as well as the main gear...2 items I would have surely replaced in a belt CP mishap of that proportion) So anyways..I get them on, put on new blades, and I notice right away how much stiffer the head is. Really...no kidding...dampened overcontrolling of the heli. Going to take off the flybar weights next weekend, and hopefully wind and visibility will be more conducive to trying that flip. Youtube video pending...going to take a while to upload...SLOW connection due to the sandstorm.

Not me - the whole fleet is in pieces while I transfer parts around, and some crucial bits are stuck in customs for the weekend
Looking at the crash reports so far, it's probably for the best. Seems to be one of those weeks when everything that goes up comes down earlier than expected...

Yeah we read your bro would be really at home here
10 servo's without getting discouraged that sort of grim determination could be really usefull in the right situation Perhaps we should have a monthly prize for the Belt CP Crayzee club, we could nominate one another and vote for a winner who could be Emailed a Certificate to print and stick on his wall
