From what my wife says, I don't need to know.

YMMV

2300 RPM on the head, 13º pitch and 12º cyclic combined has a tendency to have that effect. Try it out on your TDR. It will fly quite a bit differently, and the Jive will come down flat-lining, but it is easily doable.

I did try a 16T with the 4525LE, ran pretty hot, but it was fast, left pitch at 14.5deg muhahaha.

LOL

Maybe i will try that on the diabolo, higher RPM lower pitch

I run my 700E on +2400 @ 13º - and that thing sure moves about. I have no desire to have my TDRs fly like that, but they can if you want them to.

I don't know how you guys fly at those headspeeds. I gave full collective at 1650 with 12 degrees this weekend and it hauled across the field. I mean it got small fast. I guess speed is like anything else, you get used to it. I have a 14T pinion waiting for when that day comes, but I think I'm going to stick to 13T for now.

Which motor and Gov do you use? My Trex based TDRex lost teeth at least once in a flight no matter which main gear I used.
That's one of the reason why I enjoy flying my TDR...

The main gears sure are "robust." Maybe I should practice my drag race starts. They're having drag races at the HeliFreak Fun Fly this weekend (I'll be there at least 2 of the 3 days). Then again, maybe I should just let the other guys beat the crap out of *their* 700Es, crash into each other, and just watch the carnage.

The last drag race I know off was won by a Voodoo , followed by a Protos (won the first 100m) and a TDR on third. Power - weight ratio is important here...

Come on, trust him, he will try!
Maybe this time there will not be any Protoss spaceship controlled by the dark side of Voodoo.

Amazing speed! That must be some kind of record? Can't understand how he can follow it.

This thread has been a little lonely since the post above.

I have no idea what heli that is. If I had to guess, that would be an LA Heli helicopter -- the same company that makes the Ricco SE mini helicopter, which swings 270mm blades. (I actually have one and it flies great... Now only if I could find it...) Maybe jointer would know more because LA Heli is based in the Czech Republic.

jointer?

Last edited by ElectricSheep; 04-26-2012 at 04:54 PM.. Reason: Fixed actual blade size (for Ricco SE) - it's 270mm

Yes. LA heli, it is called LA700.
http://www.laheli.com/web/article.php?kid=10&lang=EN
It is bit lighter then TDR, it have a bit less solid construction imho (plastic-plastic gears) and classic 1 stage gearing; i also think i mentioned it in some other thread some time ago.

I cannot say it on our czech forums, but i think it is ugly, not as well engineered as TDR, with some strange things in the construction, BUT it does fly TDR-ish, which is probably because of the low weight.
No interest in it (the only LA product which i would get is Ricco).

I was scanning this thread when I happened upon the LA700. What does it have to do with this thread?
