Default Looking for a thread and can't find it.

Hi all. I have been searching for a couple of days now with no luck finding a thread where Dennis P altered a G20 canopy to mount the same as a G30. Does anyone know the name of the thread or have a link to it?

I tried searches for G20 canopy mod, G30 canopy mounts on a G20, for posts by dennis, other variations on canopy mod, etc but can't find anything.

Thanks.

Thanks Dennis,
It looks like a longer lip to reach a moved bracket. Did you have to raise it any off the skid frame? I want to change mine and move the cdi box underneath on my next days off. Provided I can find some suitable scrap metal at work.

James

Thanks Dennis. Time to look around work for some suitable material. A make work project for Monday and Tuesday if things don't creep up on me.

Digger1973, I used the stock G30 canopy mount on my G20 to put the EI on the top plate and not deal with the "chin's" two screw heads. I just used one of the screws from the skid mounts to secure it, and some goop and self tapping screw for the other side. I changed out to the G30 skids as well to get more ground clearance for the pull start as well as while I learn to hover. Of course that requires me to be able to start this thing...

I can send you pics if you need them, but once you get the stock G30 mount, you'll figure it out pretty quick.

They do start easy with the needles set ay default or 1 1/8 out. I will have to look at the g30 mount. I freed up space by moving my batteries to the back after soldering up some 14 gauge wires to ensure good current flow. I like not having to remove the canopy anymore.
