Default iCharger 3010b with

Hi

Has/does anyone use a:
http://www.progressiverc.com/fma-mul...xh-t-plug.html

with an iCharger 3010b? I wanted to use one, but when I connect it all up, I get balance errors and the 3010 will not read the cells. Just gives Bal Err errors messages.

Any help appriciated.

Thanks

John

Yup...I had the same problem...I thought the board was bad and e-mailed Progressive RC.

It turns out the FMA board doesn't use a standard 10s balance cable...you need this one.

Correction. There is standard for wiring JST-XH connectors which can be found on any JST-XH equipped pack. FMA followed this well established pinout for their interconnect connect cables.

Other parallel boards have reversed the standard pinout the connection on the board. Often to make assembly easier. However that is not following the standard.

Thanks guys. I'll see if I can find a UK supplier, if not, I'll have to import it.

Cheers,

John

Just to clarify, is the lead in the link above somehow special?

Is this lead the same? http://electriflyer.co.uk/balance-lead-bw-11-11/
As the iCharger comes with a similar one. Does the progRC one have a different pinout?

Thanks,

John

You should e-mail Progressive RC...When I called they said I could make the balance cable I had into the FMA one by switching pins 1 and 10 (I think...). I didn't feel like doing it so I just bought the FMA cable, but it might be easier for you to just convert your balance cable to make it work.

Look close at the picture of that cable. The pinout on the right is correct and is the same as a battery pack. The pinout on the left is reversed. So no it would not work and is likely the same pinout as the cable you have.
