Default The Protos Bible.

How about we get a thread together with all the most pertinent information on the Protos that is easy to navigate and super helpful for everybody (especially people new to the Protos).

I would love to see:

Information on the latest factory upgrades and what issues they corrected with them.
Recommended collective and cyclic pitch ranges for various flying.
Recommended head speeds for safety, hovering, sport and 3D and maybe throttle curves used.
Information on static issues and how to solve them.
Links to build threads and videos.
Build tips.
Power system combos that work including ESC setups and motor upgrades.
Cyclic servo recommendations that work well.
Gyro and tail servo combos that work with the mechanical and TX setup that got it to work.

There is so much useful info in this forum but it is hard to sort though. Anybody want to help get things organized?

Great idea!

If I had the time I'd love to throw together a website. But unfortunately I don't. Slyster's bible for the B400 was a great resource. But that dude has oodles of free time.

I second Snap.

However, if you throw some section headlines at me (e.g., how to make the JR 3517MG work on the cyclic), how to get the slop out of the new flybar carrier etc., I will write content for you guys.

Best,
Frank

Very good idea.

I think that as a new ovner you will find some bulding difficulties. I mean "How to align servo frame to sliding the main shaft very smooth"

This "how to" is right here and it works!

Well, I bet everyone knows this, but the blade holder is intended to be used as a flybar lock for pitch adjustment, using the top opening in the holder. It helps, as the protos doesn't sit with the boom parallel to the ground.
A very nice touch from MSH!!!

Howdy all

New owner -- on its way :0) -- would the Spektrum DS821's that come with the transmitter fit this bird and be a cool servo to use?

Thanks greatly

Markus

Hi dizzymarkus the spectrum servo will not fit it is too big...you've got to use 9650 or 9257 servo size

Hey gents,

Popokatepetl posted a link to one specific page in my build log (thanks!), but for anyone interested, here's the intro page. I've tried to make the whole thing fairly comprehensive, and I hope it helps some of you out with your Protos':

Note to self: update this page http://www.rcheliwiki.com/MSH_Protos as information in this topic appears. Of course you can add to that page too as it's in bad need of words.
