Default Paddles

Guys - just getting into sport flying with an align 500 - loops, stalls, 8s etc.
I also fly my 50 like that, but so far haven't tried with the 90 - just flown circuits etc.

I have removed the original black (50gm) paddles and replaced them with some Align 20gm that were for a 700. I've flown the 90 since and didn't feel any change in particular, but only doing circuits so far.

Question is - am I likely to see a reduction in cyclic authority with them if I start doing more adventurous things like loops - don't want to get it up at the top of a loop and find it tough to finish off
Like I said, it didn't feel any different in just tooling about.

Any help much appreciated
Keith

typically, the lighter the paddle, the more authority you will have. I have a set of KBDD's on my 60, and those woke the thing up. All I need now is to buy the metal mixing arms so I can move the bell/hiller mixing to the inner hole, which is supposed to make it even more aggressive.

Thanks Tim- gonna have to 'man up' soon and get that bird looping
Having built it myself, I know how much it cost......
And what it will cost to repair too

I know how you feel. My Raptor is my second heli. I've had it for about 5 years, but due to college and a lot of moving around, it sat at my parents house with all of my other stuff. Two years ago when I got it back and started flying, it was quite nerve wracking to flip it over, but once I finally did, it was a lot of fun. It was probably too much heli for my budget at the time, parts are pretty expensive, but they hold up really well. I probably should have bought a little 450 to really learn on, but, if you're careful, its not a big deal.

I'm doing just fine with the 500 - loops and roll-out loops - working towards an inverted pause coming over the top.....
Trouble is - I crashed my 50 a few weeks ago while looping, when I gave too much negative as it came down the end of the loop and it flew backwards - brain freeze/dumb thumb took over and into the ground it went
It's kind of killed my confidence a bit so I'm cracking on with the 500 and re-building my confidence with the 50 gradually (the heli was rebuilt within a week)
