Question Reflex XTR and Futaba FASST 2.4

Hi

Does anyone know if Reflex XTR works OK with the Futaba Fasst 2.4 7C?

I will appreciate your answers.

Thanks

JC

I am not familiar with that radio but I think it should work just fine. You will want to make adn save a new model for use on the sim.

There are two way to use reflex relating to radio and sim setup.

1.) The radio is setup for an airplane with simple 4-channel input for control and one for autorotation. The sim does the mixing for throttle / collective and swash. About any radio should work that way.

2) The other way is to go into the sim and make some changes from the default settings telling it that the radio will do the mixing like on the real heli model. You turn off throttle/collective mixing and governor on the sim and let the radio do the mixing. The swash type needs to be set at "one servo" on my JR's. I think some use 90-degree swash and it works. You are going to have to get to know your radio pretty well for this but it is the way to go for more realistic use allowing you to tune the radio sim to be more like your model or a real model.

Hope that helps.

Thanks a lot Gary

So what I understand is that you have to configure your models in your radio for reflex.

Sounds great, so you keep practicing the hardest part of helis: radio setup!!!, hehe.

Thanks

Yes both are true.

In both scenario's you can make changes to both the radio and the Sim. But the radio has more options just like with a real model in the second scenario.

Good Luck.

Gary

The sim has just arrived and I already installed and made it work. I had some problems assigning the channels but not a big deal, as well as the gyro gain (had some tail wag, just set it at 34% at the Tx for Normal, Idle 1 and Idle 2) but not a big deal too. It works great. Not to much time to test it because I am at work but I will continue testing it at home.

Thanks for your help.

Glad to hear it is working well for you. I think it is a good sim. Just not supported well.

GAry

Yesterday night at home I was playing for a while with the sim, I set it correctly and it worked very good, now I am fighting with the throttle and pitch curves configuration, they do not work the same as my real bird, anyway I'll keep trying, the rest worked fine for my taste.

Good sim, but you are right, the support is a crap, Phoenix is eating the reflex market.

BTW Phoenix is on its way too, hehe.

Best and thanks again,

JC

Glad it is working for you.

You can always go in and change the F5 and F11 parameters. Especially the F11 things like motor power, model weight, pitch, rpm. Not necessarily to settings like the real thing but whatever it takes to make it fly like the real thing. Play with it a bit. You can really fine tune things and then save it the way you want it. It is nice to start by making a copy so you can go back if you forget what you did.
