I am using a cut off wheel with a dremel tool, is there some magic that must be used?

Just cut a slot in the head of the screw so you can use a flat tip driver
to remove the screw

I did that and just got a rounded out slot that the screwdriver just jumps out of.

When you cut the slot you need to do a good job and not make a rounded slot. ALSO one of them I had to take a pen torch and heat the center for the screw (don't heat too much our you will cook the CF main frame) otherwise I could see that the screw driver was going to strip the slot I cut.

Hey LoveMyTrex, While using the cut off wheel only move left to right to left trying to hold thr wheel as close to 90degrees as posible to the head of the screw. Sounds like your using the dreaded scoop technique drawing the wheel towards your self does not take much to produce round corners.Another way which is more forgiving is to get a small good jewelers flat file or hack saw blade and run this across the head of the screw.Good Luck Yogi

I'm waiting for my T-Rex 700 kit to arrive. In the mean time I was checking any possible modifications that are recommended from stock to improve this heli. I have read on various threads that gear stripping on the 700 is a main issue. All of those upgrading to the G-Force setup like Finless, how is it going? Is it worth while to do this modification and does it solve the gear stripping issue??

Hey Finless, Did you ever do any testing on those new 1.0 gear sets from Canada.I believe those are the ones from Miro but he has been quiet about it for some time now.Any info on this would be nice thinking about going with the Microheli 1.0 gear set even though the quality is not as good as Miro's.Thanks Yogi

Yes, I had Fireup do the testing and he has put a lot of miles on the mod 1 gear. It is TOUGH is all I can say and has yet to have any issues with stripping. He did damage one in a crash with chicken dance and the ground beat up the teeth.

As for when Miro releases the gear, I don't know as I haven't heard about it in a few weeks.

You can but you wont get any adjustment then. The idea behind the clutch block is to allow you to adjust mesh of the pinion to main gear. If you move that clutch stack then you "may" have to adjust the motor mounts to. Not always but you might. The Align motor mounts are not adjustable. So you could try it and if you DO need to adjust the motor mount then you could get the Gforce adjustable mounts.
