80% of my crashes were trying stupid crap in my backyard. find a field or park and fly 30-40ft. up. Unless you have the money for parts.

I agree with CraigM 100%.......I only ever hover tail-in in my backyard (its tiny) if your gonna try something risky for the first time (or other times for that matter) do it in a big open place with plenty of height.
DONT TRY AN INVERTED LANDING ON GRASS....it cant be done!!!!
but it would be nice to try one, one day, not for a long time though.
You cant do flips in normal mode, when you pull the throttle stick down to give negative pitch the motor will turn off.

Thanks, Daniel

Yep -- I learned that lesson the hard way. I tried the flip on an impulse because I was flying great (at least for me) and was feeling full of myself. Next thing I knew I was picking pine needles out of my Belt.

Is there any website where there's a description of all the names of the different kinds of stunts and tricks and what they look like? Rolls, flips, piros, hurricanes etc. etc.

I saw a guy do it on youtube with a 500. Did an auto land on the head. It tore the blade tips up, but that was all the damage I saw.

Heres a nitro. Guys nuts I wouldn't do this to my heli. Must be made of money

Yeah I saw that one before. I'd almost say that he has weighted blades cause they sure do hold the heli for a long while

I saw that one too test. I've actually watched it a few times and still find it funny when he started to run for it and his friend stopped him

Yea but, if you fly a nitro then I'm sure there are no nerves flying the Belt and you would be more likely to whip it around the sky! I'll find out soon enough!(like summertime) I just need to get a Rx, Rx pack, 550mm blades, and a gallon of nitro! Thanks again guys the DX6i will help me in so many ways!

I don't know what the problem is about nitro's. Is it just nitro heli's you don't like or any nitro rc's? They are almost the same except the fuel tank is the battery and the engine is the motor

The end result is a high spinning pinion no matter what it is being powered by. An electric motor has more torque, but an engine can reach a higher top speed. Either one, you don't want to go near when the blades are spinning.

And apart from that accident on that video (Which probably rarely would happen) they are just as dangerous as eachother.

They make lots of noise, require voodoo to get them started, burn nitroglycerin, throw fuel all over the heli, chicken dance until you can pull off the fuel line and will cut your fingers off first chance they get. Other than that, they're fine.

lool. They can be dangerous. For example, Chad's servo was reversed and the throttle was open. But as long as your careful then it's YOUR fault if something bad happens. Unless there was a strage problem that wasn't your fault but that applies for electrics.

As for the chicken dance. He couldn't throttle hold because the battery had come out on compact. If he had hit throttle hold as soon as he knew it was gunna hit the floor (Which I agree is hard because he was so close to the floor) then it wouldn't have chicken danced. Maybe next time he will secure his battery better.

Ooh, good point! I'll have to add that to my list of reasons to avoid nitro.

Nothing wrong with nitro. Everyone says they are hard to start or keep running, but their not. Once you get the tunned they crank right up. Airplanes and helis ar the easiest since theres only one needle to deal with. My truggy has three needle valves and it cranks right up. I've had boats, planes and cars and this Belt cp is the first RC toy I've ever owned that is electric, other than the walmart toys when I was a kid. I' take nitro over battery any day. Once you run out of fuel it takes 10 seconds and you are back up and running.

They burn Nitromethane. Nitroglycerin you keep in your pocket in case you have a heart attack!
