Looks like the recent theme is water. Here is some contrasting subject matter for you. Can anyone guess why that water is brown?

Hey Seahawk -- Looks like a high-tech lap pool with a couple kiddie pools on the side!!! Think I can almost see the little swimmers

Nice looking place DJ, man that road behind seems awful close. Oh and nice video of the place too.

Here is one I shot yesterday. It was 12 photos. I tried to turn it into the QuickTimeVR, but can't find the right software right now.

took this pic of my house in Murrieta (California) today. not quite up to the standard usually posted here but I was pretty happy with it. it's my first good AP pic from my t-rex w/askman mount and DigiMax a402 camera.

I am getting 20 solar panels installed and this is the before pic..

There's a 160hp C-152 for sale on the field where I keep my Cheetah. Every time I drive by it I stop to see if the sign in the windshield has a lower price. I want that plane bad. take-off in about 300' and climb out at 1400'/min
How much is it?

MAN! I've been shooting with a new electric the past few days and it's great!! I've read about all the great aspects of electric heli's and finally took the plunge. Very simple - very clean! It'll take some getting use to... (nothing to clean, no noise, no burnt flesh from the muffler, ...)

Here's a couple pics I shot at my golf course... and the players never even heard the heli !?!?!?! ...(try that with a gasser!)

These pics aren't the best. I wasn't too concerned with picture quality as this was still a "setup and tweak" flight.

EDIT - Here's the Google Map overhead

I've been working on using my mast for night shots. Here's something I shot the other night.

Nearly 11:00 at night and the temp was still 99. I shot it at ISO 800. I'm working on some techniques to stabilize the mast and try shooting at ISO 400 to reduce the noise. Practice, practice.

Right at 50'. I built a new tray for my gimbal that will let me shoot in portrait mode today. I'm going to go back tonight and see if I can get a good set of shots in portrait mode and stitch them together for a 360 pano. The tray is interchangeable with my heli mount so I can try the same technique except under the heli.

It's just been so freakin' hot lately. I think we're up to 35 days over 100 in a row?!

Not an aerial but I shot it none the less. These are the kind of shots I like to paint. I might have to commit one of these to canvas

Mark, are those streaks contrails? They seem very unusual.

I believe they were contrails. Winds aloft must have been doing some strange things.

Mark,

Awesome night shot. What lens did you use, and what exposure settings did you pick?

You mention stabilize. Is your mast ground or vehicle mounted?

50 ft is pretty high for ground based mast.

I shot it with my Rebel XT on my Bird-Shots(http://www.bird-shots.com) pole. I'm using the 17-85 IS (Image Stabilized) lens. I had the ISO set to 800 and the F-Stop at 4.0, shutter was 1/2 second. There was a light breeze, but if I let the mast sit for a few minutes, it would settle down. I like the lens, but I wish it would go down a stop or two. 4.0 is as wide open as it will go. I'm thinking about getting a 15mm lens to try.

The Bird-Shots pole goes to 55' fully extended and I've got it mounted on my truck. It gets a lot of wierd looks.

I went out to do more shots tonight, but it's too breezy. Can't get the camera to stop moving. We'll try again tomorrow.

I added an attachment to the top of the pole so I can attach a tether and put some tension on the pole to help keep it from swaying in the wind. All of the cables that lift the pole are on one side and are under a lot of tension. I've learned that if I park the pole with the cable side pointed into the wind, it won't sway very far with the wind. I tried it out in the driveway today and if I use a tether to apply a small force on the side opposite the cables, it pulls the mast taught and prevents it from swaying. I'm hoping that with only a light breeze or less, I can get the mast to be still enough for 2 second exposures or longer. Practice, Practice, Practice.

Went out and shot some practice shots to test some changes I've made to my equipment. My 11 year old son Andrew was running the camera.

These are at the Argyle Texas High School. I had installed a "Power Stick" antenna on the transmitter for my mobile monitor to help keep my camera man from wacking me with the antenna. It worked great up to about 100' then we lost all camera control. So I had to disassemble the transmitter and put the original antenna back on. Better to find out now before I go out on a paying gig. Andrew is getting pretty good at running the camera and giving me guidance. We need more practice, but he's coming along.
